I think the distinction with him is that a lot of liberals/progressives fell in love with him as a goofball in Parks in Rec, celebrated his rise to stardom, and then were horrified that he turned out to be a Christian Fundamentalist conservative.

Most Christains (I don’t think he’s Catholic) aren’t airing their religion and marriage on social media every day.  He tries to project messages out to the world, the world responds in kind.

100% this. Our laws are fundamentally broken, and our courts so racist, that we’ve created a landscape where white men need only come ready to kill and then find an excuse to be scared.
