I’d watch her in just about any role. She’s luminous. I do enjoy her as Aunt May & the awkward comments from Tony Stark about Aunt May were pretty funny. Especially because I remember liking Only You, in 1994 when it came out.

I’ve never watched the Twilight movies and I am sure they are terrible and ridiculous.

Yeah, if Anna Kendrick was wet and cold, imagine how much worse the lowly PAs probably had it - while being paid 1/10 of what she was for the privilege.

Yeah, I watched these movies because I sometimes enjoy watching trash. She’s such a minor presence in the movies that if she never talked about them and just accepted that it was a boost to her career, nobody would even remember she did it.

I know it’s fun to shit on Twilight. And we all love Anna Kendrick (for some reason). But...does she have any idea how many people’s entire career is doing stuff like this regularly?

When I worked for a trade association, every VP made at least $150k. But they refused to raise the receptionist pay so competitors kept picking them off easily with better offers. Rather than raise that pay, leadership wouldn’t budge on the $32k salary, not for cost of living, not for inflation, nothing. And we went

Nobody in AOC’s staff makes less than $50K and she made those arrangements on purpose because people who worked for her couldn’t afford to eat or pay rent. Because of gentrification and inflation in DC while Stephen Miller lives in a $1M house on K Street, that’s still not a living wage, but ... *sigh*

But if you hadn’t had on a suit, you’d never have made the cut for the next interview. James Carville wears his LSU gear for on-air interviews, but a prominent senior Hill person with hiring power was offended I had to turn down her job offer because I had a full scholarship to school.& wouldn’t have been otherwise

I’m also a Hill staffer and am right with you. Plus, the dress code thing was so subjective, in several offices I worked in, it just became an area where the office manager could bring down people she didn’t like while completely ignoring it for others. Also, the men in my office were never called out for being under

I’m a former Hill staffer, and this article is making me EXPLODE over the dress code bullshit.

What the fuck is it with these choads and their intentions?

That’s why I hate that argument, always. If something has nothing to do with you and affects you in no way, then hush up and listen to people fighting for a decent life.

Daniel Radcliffe said trans rights, hell yeah!

It is extremely fallacious reasoning made insidious by both recentering and reframing a narrative that doesn’t belong to them to themselves.  It is an exceptional example of bad faith argument.

Is it me or is Rowling using basically the same illogical argument the anti-gay marriage crew uses: essentially, that giving legitimacy to others somehow lessens your own? All those assholes in the CA Prop. 8 battle kept moaning that their marriages wouldn’t mean anything anymore if gay people could get married too.

Dear Police Recruiters,

Yup. I can’t find a way to post pictures, but look up what happened in NY, Orlando, and Portland last week.

I keep hearing stories of cops kneeling and as soon as the pictures are taken by the media they tear gas the same crowed they were kneeling with.

It’s crystal clear by now that the best indicator of unfitness to be a police officer is wanting to be a police officer.

Yeah, these cops look bologna strong all right. This guy looks like he’s having a heart attack.
