The bolded part of your comment highlights what a fucking awful system we allow to exist in the first place. Paying workers a barely liveable wage while their CEO gets tens of millions a year in compensation because he’s buddies with the board.

If we’re going to be honest, your belief that the Trump administration is as amenable to Sander’s policies as a Biden administration would be is ignoring reality for the sake of your feelings. Try not to bring the whole country down with you.

Why does some asshole always have to bring up the “how do we pay for it” straw man? You’re the richest country in the world there’s probably half a dozen ways you could pay for free college, healthcare, and the wall if you so chose. Maybe stop putting billions upon billions into your fucking armed forces.

Unless this book has something he can be sued or charged for I really can’t gear myself up to care.

How has Mitch McConnell not caught and died from coronavirus yet?

the even bigger problem, if you read the piece (without getting ill multiple times) is his control over money, funds, and fundraising for his party. He’s been hugely behind the push for more money in politics and it’s absolutely terrifying. Power for the sake of power.

ugh my brother declared “Biden and Trump are both the same, neither are getting my vote!” last night. It was on Zoom so i was able to just stare at him as he was saying it.

The bigger problem is that he is stacking the other courts, not just SCOTUS.

I saw a friend of a friend post last week (on the topic of Bernie’s campaign ending) asking when the democratic party was going to “invite us to the table”. I so badly wanted to say “look, there’s a chair - unless you want another 4 years of our current dumb fucking president, I suggest you sit down and get with the

Tell-all memoirs don’t matter. Estranged wife and daughters don’t matter. A complete compromise on his part of any and all principles and decency don’t matter. He is packing the Supreme Court with conservatives, and that’s the only thing that matters. In his eyes certainly.

I don’t live in Kentucky. I almost NEVER contribute to political campaigns. I donated to Amy McGrath who is running against Mitch this fall. I know if the Republicans retain control of the Senate and Mitch loses some other Trump shill will just take his place as speaker, however it will atleast make me feel better

That’s interesting, I wouldn’t consider McConnell (the senator) to be zealous or nutty, just completely self-interested and devoid of principles. But I could be completely wrong about that.

Two pence. Three pence is a thruppence.

And can you imagine Dolly and RBG trapped together for 16 months?

The part most people don’t realize is that most of these theme park workers are going to be taking home more now per week than they would if Disney kept paying them.

How offensive that Disney is sloughing the cost of paying furloughed staff onto government, both the Feds through the bailout and Florida through State Unemployment Insurance (FL happens to pay one of the lowest monthly SUI in the country; ~$950).

If it wasn’t a big deal, then everybody wouldn’t be so pissed off at them. It’s stupid, but the reaction of the Royals and the media alike shows that it was in fact, a Big Deal.

As the youngest, the most horrendous and offensive thing I can say to my family is, “I’m not raising my kid to do Shitty Thing My Parents Instilled in Their Kids. The cycle ends with me.”

You're not wrong, but they are pioneers in that they pulled the plug before William was going to in 25-30 years. I give them some credit for that and all the credit for saying, "We're not going to raise our kid this way."

Sweet tidbit about Jane Goodall —
I saw her speak at a NY Times Talk last year and she confessed that when strangers meet her in public they often burst into tears, flat out weeping!

She seemed quite flummoxed about it but I think I would do the same. Love you, Jane, keep all the secrets.
