Been playing it nonstop for the last two nights, and gotta say - GREAT GAME! Never played it when it first came out so I'm stoked to be able to experience it on PS4. A lot of it is just interactive cutscenes, but it's so well done... and I'm definitely rooting for the series to continue in this direction!
Where oh where is Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition? Since it performs better on PS4 than on XB1, it's a no-brainer to recommend. The game is gorgeous, plays smooth and is easily one of the best available, even if it's multi-platform.
Ummm, not even in the slightest little bit. AC4 is rad to the bone. I've loved just about every minute I've spent with it, and it's gorgeous as f$%*.
Interestingly, I'm the opposite. I never play my XB1, and exclusively play PS4, not because there are so many games for it, but damn some of these games can eat up weeks and weeks (or months) of your life. Like AC4: Black Flag... still playing that damn game trying to collect everything, and it's still fun. Just…
Exactly what I came here to say. "A new handheld could really make waves if handled properly." Yeah, GREAT ADVICE!! All they need to do is scrap that useless 3DS and get on board a "new handheld". If they handle it properly, it could very well 'make waves.'
*HEADDESK*
Well, my point wasn't that *I* like chess, more that the whole world likes chess, and has for a very long time, which makes your dire prediction about it fading away and being phased out, just rather implausible. If, in the coming decades chess seems to just evaporate due to the "superior" titles like LoL and…
Wouldn't know, haven't played Hive. It may be great, too. I'm not trying to say that other games aren't awesome, just that chess IS. If it weren't, as you claim, it wouldn't have stood the test of time that it has. It will persevere. It has a historical, almost ancient weight to it, and while game snobs concerned…
The "decline in popularity of chess" is due more to the fact that it now faces so much competition in the form of thousands of other games which occupy peoples time, rather than being due to a supposed "flaw" in the game. The internet age has made all kinds of classic things less popular, as attention-spans shorten…
My point is that they have been in place largely "as they currently are" for almost 540 years. Which wouldn't be possible if the game was as flawed and broken as you keep insisting it is. It is a timeless game for a very good reason, and the fact that a tiny sliver of players have memorized a bunch of opening moves…
Agreed, and on that note, why is the interwebz not in a fit of rage over the AWFULNESS of the Xbox One controller? I love the DS4 indeed, but was always a 360 guy previously, and loved the 360 controller. Expecting greatness, I opened the XB1 box and grabbed the controller aaaaaand..... it's freaking terrible. It feel…
"but I think unless they change the rules in Chess as they currently are it'll get replaced by another board game..."
Really? From Wikipedia: "...and around 1475, several major changes made the game essentially as it is known today." So sure, it may have been "patched" here and there, but the core game mechanics are…
I didn't see a "series of arguments", only that you think the game is now broken because a small handful of chess pros have "memorized a series of opening moves". Any board/tabletop game will eventually boil down to the same thing. There are ALWAYS going to be a set number of strategies which, once mastered, will give…
This argument is ridiculous. I've been playing Chess my whole life (I'm 32) against a lot of different people and none of us found it "boring" or "broken" or anything like that. No one bothered to memorize a set of opening moves or any of that crap. We just played. And it's a ton of fun. It's great mental exercise,…
Oh for fuck's sake.
For what it's worth, those quotes are from a satirical article which had much of the internet fooled, including me. Apparently he didn't say those things. But hey, you know what? Why don't you aim for being Pope. Clearly you'd make a great one and know all the right things to do with your unlimited,…
OH, I DID IT! DID YOU SEE THAT?!?!
OK, clearly you are very worked up over this. But I think you're underestimating what a difference words can make when they come from the Pope. A total tectonic shift in tone, language and philosophical direction for the Church is a HUGE thing to accomplish in under 9 months.
Read this article and then tell me he isn't…
Look it may change more in line with your desires in the future. But the Vatican is a vast, powerful group. If he tried what you're suggesting, he'd get assassinated in a heartbeat. Change like the kind you want must be slow and steady, for a variety of reasons. He's on the right course, and is pushing it as well as…
Sigh.. c'mon now. You want the Pope to categorically state that homosexuality is not a sin? Really? That's almost guaranteed to never happen, regardless of who is Pope. The best a Pope can do is tell his Church to calm down and stop making such a big deal of it, and instead of focusing on things like homosexuality and…
