This is creepy not only for the fairly pukeworthy imagery, but also for what seem to be Moffet's spontaneous vocal impersonations of Steve Martin and Jeff Goldblum (I should note, however, that as far as haphazard impersonations go they're not half bad).

@PSWii2011: Yes, if you select the gifting option on the purchase page, they'll provide you with gift codes that you can dole out the games to others (or yourself) as you decide.

This is a pretty great thing. Money is tight for the holidays (and with the cost of moving! Why did I pick now to move?) but I did my bit to raise the average Windows donation a little.

@Sloopydrew: Yeah, that's a bit odd. Paypal asks that you do it before allowing you to change your password, and it's all done within the secured page on the site. What you're describing does sound a bit offputting.

@Sloopydrew: I don't know if it's the one you're thinking of, but Paypal does a similar thing to ensure your identity before allowing you to change your password.

This is totally awesome. Voice Search is good, but it could use some help. Looking forward to seeing it become more accurate as I use it.

This was fun, but it's not as if I need any coercion to buy this game. It's one on a very, very short list of things that have earned my money the moment they were announced, alongside titles like ME3, TOR, The Last Guardian, and now Skyrim.

@Surturius: I have to disagree. I played Crysis and Warhead, and I have to say that forest is a step above any foliage I saw in the game. That is some seriously detailed stuff.

@shua.jo.m: Indeed. My mistake... one of these days my comprehension will come to me. Cheers!

@the john: Technically it's more than an .apk (really it's going to involve modding multiple parts of your phone's framework and works best on the Evo right now, unless you want to rebuild it for your own framework, which is a nuisance)... but the thread is here: [forum.xda-developers.com]

@floppy mcwiggle: I know it's absolutely awful. That said, first time that thing's $15.00 and I'm there, I'm in. $15 is like, the magical price for anything where I'm concerned.

@VolumePlus: The feature was actually ported to be used in Sense-based ROMs, as well... and it's nothing at all to tear apart the .apk, replace the art assets with your own, and re-sign the package yourself. It's just too bad CM6.1 still doesn't have WiMax support for the Evo yet. Hopefully they'll get it figured out

I wouldn't be surprised if the Kinect support is some kind of virtual garage, to let you get behind the wheel of your automobiles and interact with them (the side mirrors, rear-view, the console displays, play with the emergency brake, shifters, and the like)... but that'll be it. It'll be a novel little thing like

@Johnnymac25: Bizarre is no longer owned by Microsoft... they belong to Activision, and Activision is known to be considering closing the studio. Further, Microsoft does still own the Project Gotham franchise, so it's very, very unlikely we'll ever see Bizarre develop another game in the series.

@Bizdady: It's a nice start, but since the shade-toggle's been ported to Sense-based ROMs pretty painlessly (and the .apk got torn down to customise the look and functionality) I'm going to wait until Cyanogen gets WiMax support.

@eflorescool01: The built-in notification-shade version isn't native to Android. Some of the ROMs offer it (Cyanogen, for one) and some of the custom UI overlays feature it, as well (TouchWiz yes, Sense no)... but for the most part it's not baked into most phones straight from retail.

This series is totally labyrinthine. I've tried to follow the story, but it's too muddled for me.

Thanks for the tips, Kevin. I know you guys aren't at fault for this, but so long as the guys currently in charge are running Gawker, and so long as Adrian Chen is 4Chan-baiting Adrian Chen, I'm going to have a decidedly less cordial relationship with this network.
