@the john: Technically it's more than an .apk (really it's going to involve modding multiple parts of your phone's framework and works best on the Evo right now, unless you want to rebuild it for your own framework, which is a nuisance)... but the thread is here: [forum.xda-developers.com]

@floppy mcwiggle: I know it's absolutely awful. That said, first time that thing's $15.00 and I'm there, I'm in. $15 is like, the magical price for anything where I'm concerned.

@VolumePlus: The feature was actually ported to be used in Sense-based ROMs, as well... and it's nothing at all to tear apart the .apk, replace the art assets with your own, and re-sign the package yourself. It's just too bad CM6.1 still doesn't have WiMax support for the Evo yet. Hopefully they'll get it figured out

I wouldn't be surprised if the Kinect support is some kind of virtual garage, to let you get behind the wheel of your automobiles and interact with them (the side mirrors, rear-view, the console displays, play with the emergency brake, shifters, and the like)... but that'll be it. It'll be a novel little thing like

@Johnnymac25: Bizarre is no longer owned by Microsoft... they belong to Activision, and Activision is known to be considering closing the studio. Further, Microsoft does still own the Project Gotham franchise, so it's very, very unlikely we'll ever see Bizarre develop another game in the series.

@Bizdady: It's a nice start, but since the shade-toggle's been ported to Sense-based ROMs pretty painlessly (and the .apk got torn down to customise the look and functionality) I'm going to wait until Cyanogen gets WiMax support.

@eflorescool01: The built-in notification-shade version isn't native to Android. Some of the ROMs offer it (Cyanogen, for one) and some of the custom UI overlays feature it, as well (TouchWiz yes, Sense no)... but for the most part it's not baked into most phones straight from retail.

This series is totally labyrinthine. I've tried to follow the story, but it's too muddled for me.

Thanks for the tips, Kevin. I know you guys aren't at fault for this, but so long as the guys currently in charge are running Gawker, and so long as Adrian Chen is 4Chan-baiting Adrian Chen, I'm going to have a decidedly less cordial relationship with this network.

Wow. There are a lot of big names bowing in a pretty short window late next year.

@Getsuga Tensho: I couldn't care less about them beating Oblivion. I care about them beating Morrowind... you know, the best title so far in the Elder Scrolls series.

@Epifante: Your ears are deceiving you. That's just a variation of the Elder Scrolls theme, as used in the the other games in the series... this time, they added some chants to it and sped it up a bit, but if you listen closely it's pretty much the same theme you heard in Oblivion, for example...

Shut your fucking mouth, yes. This is how you do an announcement. Gah, this is going to be great... but the wait is going to be awful.

@philippemorin123: No offense, but we're not discussing the best working conditions. We're discussing the best work. And lots of great things have been born of less than decent beginnings. You can abhor Rockstar's business practices, but you can't deny the final product was a thing of beauty.

@Squirrelbot3000: I'm willing to concede that leaving out AC: Brotherhood might be an oversight (or just a matter of taste), but Enslaved shouldn't make it within twenty yards of this article. That game was enjoyable, had a somewhat memorable story, and was not superlative in any other way. In fact, a number of

It's novel, and not poorly implemented. I do wish I could assign it where to sync within my Dropbox, though... and the other comments about the formatting issues are spot-on.

@rEVOLVEr: Your diet must be fascinating.

It's very discomforting to notice that Steven Tyler and Palpatine share more than a passing resemblance.
