I just don't see it. The first competitor out of the gate has to be able to hold off the other two when they invariably show up, and recent history (the 360 this generation, and the PS2 last and yes, I'm writing the Dreamcast out of that generation because Sega wasn't able to give it a fair chance to succeed) suggests

I'm not surprised that Kinect isn't that expensive on a per-unit basis, especially considering they removed the internal processing unit. And I'm OK with that— $500,000,000 is an awfully large marketing investment and I understand they want to recoup a bit of that.

That's terribly sad. What a waste. Some people are just stupid and evil.

Dear publishers,

Kyle Katarn! And Louis! And even love for Marathon! This is such a great list. Only needs Chakan, the Forever Man.

@Illundiel: If you believe the article, these are clips from the first half, and Xenophilius is in one of these clips, so...

It's really nice. I just wish we could agree on one multiplatform messaging solution— Whatsapp, Kik, Meebo, whatever— so it would actually be useful. I like this app, but I would choose whichever one wins the day.

@limitless.opportunity: ATT is currently sitting at the same 7.2Mb/s threshold as T-Mobile's first-gen HSPA+ service... AT&T is upgrading to HSPA+ 14.4, while T-Mobile is rolling out 21.7. Earlier this year, the N900 was also experiencing spikes over its stated draw; I assume it has something to do with T-Mobile

@nick1016: The only downside of the HD7 is that the first-gen Snapdragon that Microsoft mandated in all launch WP7 devices does not enjoy support for T-Mobile's full HSPA+ network (HSPA = 7.2Mb/s theoretical max, HSPA+ on T-Mobile = 21.7 Mb/s theoretical max). So you've got a great WP7 device— arguably the best of the

@MrGOH: I agree with that notion, although I was referring primarily to have a visually continuous series leading up to God Emperor. I don't have much interest in what comes after it, but I'd love to see a coherent statement of the buildup.

@MrGOH: I really want to see that, but I'd really like to see it in the context of the larger series.

I am unsure whether this is the best or worst thing I have ever seen. It's definitely one of those. I can't believe he's even making this picture.

Congratulations on the anniversary, Crecente, and keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to your next six years.

@muzicman82: BGR are suggesting that Dev-Nexus models will be getting Gingerbread in the next few days... perhaps Google have baked BlindType into 2.3? It'd be awesome.

@ahowisen: I'm fairly sure the Galaxy Tab uses the same Swype keyboard as all the other Galaxy S devices. Unless you've got a device with Swype pre-loaded on it, right now it's not available in the Android Market or anywhere else (legally). Those guys only periodically open up beta access.

I've only used ThickButtons and SlideIT, out of the keyboards featured here. ThickButtons was decent, but it didn't help me to type any faster or more accurately than the stock Android or HTC-IME keyboard layouts. SlideIT is fine, I guess, but it's disastrously ugly and I really prefer Swype in the battle of

The reviews have been pretty consistent about the HD7— an average (if dazzlingly large-screened) device with poor color reproduction, bad viewing angles, and a mediocre camera. I'm still inclined to call it the best of the launch devices available in America, though. The two (possibly three) better devices (Omnia 7,

@theyre-all-taken: That may be the creepiest thing I've ever seen. Is that a wee landing strip on his crotch?

@herogear: By conventional experiences I was suggesting that had the Wii allowed for (current) games that didn't employ motion control alongside those other, motion-controlled titles, they would have enjoyed more support from gamers who didn't want motion control as the whole experience. It's just my opinion that most

@Fnor: I agree that it would be more enlightening if they had some kind of correlation between Move buyers and Wii owners. If they could show me that six out of ten Move buyers already own a Wii, I'd be a lot more excited (and willing to buy in if it meant that Move had a better shot at co-opting a lot of the Wii's
