I buy real guns. From real gun manufacturers. Why should I give a damn if a video game developer pays those same companies cold, hard cash for the right to depict fake ones?

What I've always wondered is why more developers don't self-finance and self-publish. Some of the industry's greatest efforts have come from studios that are essentially a division of their respective publishing houses, like Nintendo, Sega Wow/Overworks, Rockstar, Valve, etc.
Hell yeah! Mako Pride!
As a guy (well - a gender-dysphoric guy), I don't understand high heels. I think square-heeled loafers and boots look practical and sexy, but pumps? Just looking at women wearing them makes my feet hurt. I mean, who are they trying to impress?
Valve doesn't need to develop games. They've fulfilled their destiny - to be the greenback-slicked plumbing through which games flow.
The safety, ethics and utility of slaughtering humans for consumption by other humans is highly questionable. Not only does the meat carry the potential of transmitting disease, but humans don't yield that much meat for a given amount of feed. The labor potential provided by that human being during their lifespan is…
I shook hands with Marty O'Donnell, once. It could be why he doesn't know what to do with them now.
I second that. I've been put under general anesthesia once, when I had my wisdom teeth out. Not only did the experience make me substantially more anxious about human mortality than I was before, but the entire time, I wasn't completely under. I could actually hear the whine of the drill during the procedure. When I…
The gun that the Halo Sniper Rifle is based on, the NTW-20 (available in 20 x 82mm Mauser, 20 x 110mm Hispano and 14.5 x 114mm Soviet chamberings), is roughly the same size.
I just built a $2,000 PC late last year. I use it for far more than gaming. One moment, I could be playing Battlefield 3 on its highest settings. The next, I could be writing fiction in Word or Google Docs, or drawing in Autodesk Sketchbook or Photoshop on my tablet, or using a DAW to compose music, or modeling in 3ds…
Yeah, Anthros kinda bug me, too. Humanized I can deal with. Regular quadrupedal ponies, sure. Anthro ponies? Nope. Don't much care for them.
I swear to god, that beer must be stronger than the advertised 9% ABV. All it takes is a pint, and you're smashed out of your mind.
I'm semi-drunk and incoherent right now, but you know what? I really enjoy pushing the glans of my dick against my flaming hot balls. Maybe instead of Altis, they should rename it Glans island?
Pfft. These are all isolation/chiclet-style laptop keyboards. I don't really understand their popularity. They're abominable. Worse than the old ThinkPad-style scissor-switch keyboards by far. The keycaps are flat, the center-to-center spacing is too high, and the response is mushy. Half the time, they barely even…
Oh man, this kicks so much ass. Nice work!
"Grief/Griefing" is gaming slang. Team-killing, physically blocking someone with your character, and deliberately feeding oneself to the opposition... all these are examples of griefing.
Lots and lots of eroge.
That tiny little Dolan avatar is creeping me the hell out.
Y'know, I can kind of understand where Jeremy's coming from. I'm a bit of a Fallout New Vegas modder. I once modeled a kick-ass knife, imported it into the game and used it to slaughter a gang of armed thugs. As I saw their guts flying across the screen, I started seriously thinking about the implications of what I…
