I guess if it does voice directions, with turn by turn instructions. I prefer a dash or windshield mounted GPS though. Set my destination before I leave, and it talks to me. The sync system used in Ford vehicles (at least the US models) can also do the voice turn by turn commands via a smart phone.

No to your first question. And to your second, if you're savvy, you can root the phone and rid yourself of all the bloat. Even if you don't root, and are still savvy, you can sometimes remove most of the bloat.
