Thank you ever so much! I was *waiting* for that! XD

"If there were a Bechdel Test for monsters, this movie would not be passing it."

THANK you!!! :)

Are you in Idaho, too? You speak with the same tone of disgust as I do... ;)

Wrong animal, wrong state...otters don't build dams. And sadly, even though many of us would like for it to happen, Oregon hasn't annexed this part of the state. (Yet. Still hopin'.)

Why do I feel like this list was written by Gwyneth Paltrow...?

:) Nice to meet another "oddball"!

I curtsy in your direction- you won everything this morning!

Yes! God, there's not a whole lot of us out there, are there? My parents were of the Silent Generation- my dad got out of the Navy *just* before Vietnam blew up. The pattern in my family seems to be that everyone waits until after the age of 28 to have kids (including myself and my husband's family). I have to say, it

This is very interesting. My father once told me that in the Middle Ages, it was believed that peasants couldn't and shouldn't eat wheat- that they couldn't digest it, and that this was the reason why it was mostly the nobility that ate it. I wish I knew where he heard or read that- can't ask him now, because he's

I guess I'm kind of stunned. My first thought was, "What, do people only know what they've seen in the movies? They don't know this stuff...?"

Bravo! I curtsy in your direction- you win everything!

Oh, Florida Woman, what *can't* you do...?

I wish someone would come up with a version of this, tailored to cyclists! Just because it's 43F out doesn't mean that your ears won't feel "brittle" by the time you get work. Knowing the windspeed and direction would be handy, too. :/

I used to work for Head Start- ran a kitchen that supplied food to 4 satellite locations, plus the main one for our city, with a total of close to 600 meals served per day. The USDA heavily encouraged us to plan our menus around "surplus" stocks they had, including all manner of interesting and frightening "meat"

Ah, Florida Woman...giving Florida Man a run for his money! (Or in this case, his box-wine...)

Hey! Bulb and seed catalogs are HOT! (Especially if you want to grow your own food!)

Oh, wow. I hope the dude from the radiator shop sold his stock before this happened- he came down with a very serious cancer recently, and was going to retire, but he put a crap-TON of his money into this stock as part of his retirement. The clothes weren't totally awful (by Idaho standards, which are admittedly

Yep. Just like Mermaid. I think they're like, from Iceland, or something. My friends were listening to them before they got famous. ;)

Mine did, too- Grandpa P. would often call that out when we were leaving their house after a visit. I think it was kind of culturally ingrained in him. Amazing how quickly things change- only a couple of generations. Kinda gives me hope. :)
