Nixon. He just didn’t have social media. But he’s right up there with Trump.

He’s made - or hid - plenty of money for shady Russian oligarchs, Central American drug kingpins, and Saudi war criminals.

Six decade human here. It’s fucked up worst than I can ever remember. Sure, there was the Cuban Missle Crisis, Cold War M.A.D, and drafting citizens as cannon fodder in Viet Nam but this is the first time I remember so much shit happening all at once and such total incompetence, ignorance and arrogance in Washington

It all started to go down hill when the new deal coalition broke apart in the 60’s, and then Regan began the dismantling of the new deal state in the 80’s. That’s at least in terms of economic fuckery.

I read a long and interesting article last year in, I think, The New Yorker, about corruption in India. It was very detailed and extensive, and super-interesting. But its thesis was one I had not heard about before.

it really is pretty lol how willing the left is to eat their own with the most scant of evidence. this is a roger stone/sean hannity hit piece in action and the left is too dumb to realize it. who would have thought that a “believe any accusation no matter what at any time anywhere by anybody” policy could be

what fucking gets me here is — how are you trying to not be a human, and instead be an anthropomorphic animal — and also be a white (read; a varietal of human) supremacist

Well it isn’t necessarily the car company. it is the company that sells the cobalt that is processed that is the issue.

This story made my heart hurt. I’m a trans Canadian, and every service mentioned in this article is something that is either covered by our health care system or my partner’s (very basic) employer provided insurance plan. HRT, therapy, bottom surgery, voice training, laser/electrolysis and more are all correctly

Trump isn’t pro-business. Hell we all know he destroyed every business he ever got within stinking distance of. He bankrupted casinos! No one seeking to end Net Neutrality is pro-business. No one putting Republicans in power is pro-business - they balloon the national debt and crash the stock market EVERY time they

Funny, I’ve never actually met such a person. It’s almost as if they exist solely in the imagination of conservatives...

Jordan (I knew your pic looked familiar, I love your comments and your writing), this post brought me a flurry of happiness in my currently horrifying life. ♥

Hah, you think that ICE cars and the oil that goes in them don’t also involve the use of slavery or child labor.

Except windmills kill exponentially fewer birds than windows and feral cats just to name a few.

Oh of course, but ethical labor costs more than unethical labor. Gotta max out those profit margins.

I believe the logic behind targeting cobalt is DRC has cobalt, DRC uses child labor, and unsourced cobalt was sold to GM and Renault, therefore GM and Renault use child labor to build electric cars!

i consider myself a religious man, so i wont paint all people with this brush, but that sign would seem to indicate that the thinking stops at the door.

Curse you, variable English sentence structure!

My favorite story about famous near-miss encounters has to do with reporter Bob McNeill who was covering the Kennedy trip to Dallas, riding in the motorcade. When the shots rang out, he jumped from his vehicle and ran to find the nearest phone to call in the report. He wound up running to the Texas School Book

Because the resulting wealth concentration leads to demand collapse.
