Imagine if he DID know, for instance, the state of the dress shop inventories. Imagine him filling his mind with the minute details of things of absolutely NO relevance to a sitting president. This is the sort of mind he wants us to believe he has.

So, you went to Sandusky High?

To be fair, politically appointed ambassadors tend to be figureheads who are coached through the motions by their more competent deputies, who will remain until the next figurehead arrives. Still sucks for the diplomats’ families, though.

I think usually decisions about recalling senior diplomats would be handled by the transition team on a case by case basis, and would be communicated to the posts important enough to warrant an immediate change much sooner than this. I wouldn’t be surprised if our ambassadors have been trying to get some information

There’s less than 35,000 miles on this Vega? If the one we had was typical, that means it’s due for its engine rebuild in about 10,000 miles.

Much of our land IS undeveloped. Much of THAT is undevelopable.

It is, in a way, my effort to constantly retrain myself. Like everyone else, I think I’m a pretty good driver. But intellectually, I know that I am not likely better than average. Focussing on my faults produces better results that seeking confirmation of my strengths.

When in comes to driving, it seems that the Lake Wobegon rules apply: every driver is above average, at least in their own mind.
