Castle Story is in a workable state currently if you're still interested in it.

Also, it's free. FL can get a bit grindy at certain points, but it's got a lot of style and humor (er... humour) in its writing.

It really isn't that hard. The interface is a bit obtuse but once you get the hang of it you don't even notice. With just a little patience, the game makes perfect sense, but most people see the ASCII and they just nope out of there before giving DF a fair chance.

I'm so pumped. DF is the greatest roguelike city management fantasy narrative simulation ever made.
