This is the best response to this site's Julie Come Lately coverage of an accomplished and intelligent woman who deserves far respect than being referred to as the "favorite feminist" of a twit that can't even spell that word, let alone qualify as one.

This makes my heart sad, as I found her to be one of the most talented hybrids in the industry whose high profile was deserved in spite of the fact that a good chunk of it was because of who she dated.

Something tells me that this news wouldn't have been as celebrated if Tamron Hall were the one that had announced that she was 4 months pregnant on her wedding day (not by Jezebel, rather by plenty others in the mainstream media).

Man, typing on this kinjamajig sucks on a phone.

Lorde, this is you in a decade.

Is this memoir a part 2 to Rob's first one (I remember the Vanity Fair cover now, thank you, PowerPuffT)?

Whoever said or implied that Living Single is a bad / "bad" show is a damn lie. It represents Black female must-see TV at its finest (well, at least until TC Carson left and Mel Jackson proved unable to fill his shoes) and I still mourn the fact there hasn't been a show that has been as hilarious or heartwarming

1. Not that I've ever been interested in Peter Pan, but has an actual Native American actress been cast in that role in a movie, TV, or Broadway? I know they cast white actresses in the role of Julie (Black biracial character who passes for white) in Show Boat for the longest time until someone finally got a clue and

No, you're making perfect sense and no, they simply don't care. Par for the course around here.

1. You know, I think that I'm going to look at Twilight in a glass half full (or is it glass half empty - I can never get that expression right) kind of way - its pure crappiness inspired Hollywood enough to do better by young female moviegoers by introducing heroines that are the antithesis of that nonsense. I've not

I always thought that was the biggest mistake she made. Sure, J. Lo brought her plenty of fortune, but I truly think that she ended up selling herself short in the long run.

Of course they do, which is why I am keeping score. ;-)

I highly doubt that this article would have been written if a Black "comedienne" with the tendency to disrespect other races for shits and giggles for came for Mr. Morgan, so I'll definitely keep this one in mind the next time someone attacks a Black celebrity that offends their white sensibilities.

Can't believe it's been 15 years since that movie came out.

ROTH, now you know as well as I do why these folks will never castigate woman-hating Tracy.

Considering that I quit this show when he'd gotten booted off and Shonda wrote in that pathetic-ass exit for Dr. Burke (since he and Burktina were my main reason for tuning in the first place), I'll be tuning in to see if she'll do right by his character (and Yang's) by properly closing the chapter on a couple that

Wavin' Flag K'naan is a much better option and choice than raggedy-ass Jared Leto.

I thought that Bill Duke did a far better job at getting to the root (no pun intended) of the issue than Chris Rock, who I suspect wanted to take a sensitive subject and air it out at the expense of Black women.

Pretty much. Folks are acting brand new about the fact that paper bag beneficiaries are held up as the standard of beauty in mainstream culture in this day and age, so if Lupi's rise to prominence results in a definitive backlash against that shit, I'm all for it.
