I couldn't agree more.

I guess we're stick in the muds because I've never smoked, nor wanted to smoke, weed, either.

I'll end this conversation by saying that Stevie Wonder can see the connection between vanity-based plastic surgery and conforming to Anglo standards when it comes to Black people going under the knife. To deny that is absolutely irresponsible and damaging to whatever progress needs to be made on how we see ourselves.

Like ilovelamp stated upthread, I take no issue with anyone going under the knife for corrective surgery due to disfiguration (sp?) or medical matters. It's the vanity-fueled plastic surgery that I have a problem with and that has everything to do with wanting to fit a Caucasian mold of beauty.

I think it does (albeit in a slightly less obvious way) because Ms. Spencer is forcing herself into a more 'conventional' physical mold that wouldn't have been as big a factor if she weren't trying to maintain her success in mainstream Hollywood.

Hey, I can point out the hypocrisy that is the Chris Brown obsessive coverage and mock his stupidity at the same time.

1. Oh, the irony of Jay-Z fretting about Rihanna setting a good example for her female fans even though his disrespect and degradation of women is how he attained success in the first place.

Interesting that you compared Ike Brown to OJ because that's exactly what I thought of when I saw this item.

Reason #123456789 as why Ike Brown is a dummy that doesn't deserve an ounce of pity, which is why I'll be the first one clowning when he eventually joins the has-been circuit along with the lost members of B2K.

Thank you.

That is why he is the Kato Kaelin of Black celebrityville.

Harlem Nights - a true comedy classic.

I definitely agree with your sentiment: "I strongly feel like unless it's an actual physical impediment, than why do it"

That's pretty much it, though I'll add that even with the conforming, they never get to reach the heights of their white peers and enjoy their privileges.

I was thinking along the lines of morphing one's natural features to fit a Caucasian mold.
