I personally think Nikita's great - I think it's the best version of the TV series. The approach they took to the reboot was pretty great in that Nikita was already out and Alex was going in (to Division) and so we actually have two female leads. I can't remember a TV series since Xena that had two female leads.

In my limited undertanding, radio waves don't degrade as such but spread out over space time as you can't maintain 100% coherence in the signal So the energy at the front of the wave becomes smaller and smaller (imagine ripples in a pond). At some point the energy of the waves become too small to detect by us.
