I always thought it meant 'Light' beams as in c from E=mc2, etc

i worked it out for a another thread: based upon the speed of the New Horizons probe going to Pluto, about 16.5 million years.

Rough calculation - assume that we can get the shuttle up to the speed of the New Horizons probe which is heading to Pluto at roughly the rate of a million kilometres per day, and assume a light year is roughly 10 trillion kilometers, then it would take approx. 16.5 million years.
