Yeah correct. The people who stop and discourage other would be thieves from stealing from the innocent are heroes.

drivers can override them by pushing the accelerator pedal down further or by disabling the system entirely.
Are they gonna have the speedometers max out at 75 mph too?
Speed limits are not set for safety in the USA and several other nations, they are set to bilk people out of cash.
*Adds one more entry to the list of things discouraging me moving to Europe*
“Enthusiasts are worried and, as the BBC reports, automakers and regulators can’t seem to come to an agreement for the least intrusive way to implement the tech."
Given American mentality, ‘making speed limits an inescapable reality’ is going to be prima facie evidence of culpability the first time someone driving a car with one of these systems gets smacked in the ass by someone coming up behind them in a vehicle that either doesn’t have a limiter or had it disabled; the…
That video reminded me that I like Rory Reid’s stuff.....and the EU sounds daft for trying this, as mentioned it certainly seems half baked.
I’m not against the safety benefits, but this is fucking wack.
I assume you mean you want the speed limits to be raised?
Unless you are getting out of a lease or you were in a car crash and absolutely have to get a new car I would avoid it completely. Its just a bad idea right now. How do you not end up underwater adding 10k to a KIA. And if you have enough cash to avoid that why would you make such a poor financial decision.
Sounds like this Campbell guy is the hero we deserve. Seriously, don’t touch peoples shit if you don’t want to get shot. If anything I appreciate the touch of getting tied to the tow hitch (lmao) and getting dragged behind the thing you were fucking with. 0 sympathy for catalytic converter thieves, let alone thieves…
A U-haul van or pickup is surprisingly affordable if you have limited driving ambitions. I recently returned from Maui and averaged 81 miles a day which would make the $1.49 uhaul rate brutal... but low miles could easily make the U-Haul cheaper. I paid $47/day, where the U-Haul option might be cheaper if I drove less…
Nah. You have the same number of cars but just for higher prices. So you have the number of cars available VS cars needed.
You know, people could just save themselves the trouble of having to rent a car and just drive to Hawaii in their own.
If you want to get around the Big Island and see more than a resort, a rental car is the only reasonable way to do it. I would be infuriated if I was a resident, but it’s hard to blame tourists for choosing a legal and economical option.
So they’re not encouraging the rental car agencies to go back to normal pricing?
To be fair, the Ridgeline is not cheap. It has the highest base price of any mid-size truck, with the exception of the Gladiator which is close, and has similar issues.
The thing automotive journalists don’t understand... or can’t convey, is why they think the Ridgeline is so much better than the competition. It’s not cheaper, it’s not more fuel efficient, it’s not safer, it can’t tow more, the bed isn’t bigger, it’s not easier to park, it doesn’t come with more standard features...
I think this vs the Santa Cruz should be interesting. And, why is this called Maverick and not Courier?
