I don't trust a man who can't drive a manual to start a car company.

I knew there was a reason I heart-clicked you a while back.

I often have to say this to engineers, as I am an industrial designer, but I will say it here: Making things "measurably better" does not make things better.

The other day I saw a vintage Honda. It was a first generation, made sometime in the 1970s. It was absolutely gorgeous - definitely not original paint, but what appeared to be close to an original color option.

The front end looks good, and the rest of the body looks great - but together it doesn't work. The side crease seems to follow the front wheel about a mile off it's diameter for no obvious reason, then continues on as a really nice accent to the car's lines.

This is correct. Matt, you might want to correct the article.

DEFINITELY safe to reveal those dream cars. I share your dream for the 850ci!

If the taillight had more of a slant to it, I'd appreciate that design note. But it's in that gray area of "Is it a little tilted or is it a little straight?"

Chrome badges. Every last one of them is rubbish. At their best, they reflect into your eyes the glaring sun, rendering the badge unreadable and your eyes unusable. At their worst, they're slapped onto a silver car (read: almost always), making it impossible to read them even if you're kneeling next to the car.

But... not at $10k. Make it $3k, and it's a deal.

Why are they only making 50 of the PEELs? I'd LOVE to have one as a little neighborhood driver!

First the news about the crusher, and now this?! I am really quite sad about this.

Ah, no wonder. I've never seen that movie.

I know - I've frequent the Ithaca area quite frequently (I'm heading over there this weekend, actually). But there's no "University of Ithaca" to my knowledge.

Does his sweater say University of Ithaca? I don't think such a thing exists...

Now I want a bridge named after me.

I lived in Rochester, NY for a couple years, and I always saw Pep Boys Specials on the road with Ontario plates, presumably from Toronto.

At least this guy went balls out with it. The Volvo upstairs seems like it was done by a lazy kid who had just a couple dozen stickers and plastic pieces.

I counter with cold morning starts with most cars. It's not great for your car to just start driving from a cold start without waiting for the oil temp to ride, and in most econoboxes it takes almost 10 minutes just to get the heat going. I'm gonna wait for that to happen in the warmth of my living room.

When people ask me why I love my car, and why it's held up so well (I have a tendency to abuse the car as well), I explain simply that it's made by Americans, but (crucially) designed in Germany.
