@TheLadyK: Yes, we've been modifying them through these processes. But now we're modifying them to resist damage by specific chemical pesticides, and making infertile crops (so that farmers can't keep seeds to plant new crops).

@animusf6: Good riddance to them. Overpopulation sucks big time for our natural resources.

@DDigital: "Considering all of the people who would have died without them"

@TheAncient: Not falling for greenpeace bullshit. Animals eating GM corn have gone infertile, as per a study done by the Austrian government. There are also a ton of issues with patented life going on that show the true colors of the companies producing these GM products.

@Samurai I-am-awry: Grey cards can also be used for white balancing, assuming they have no color cast.

We should have buildings all around the world, with color card roofs. Each color square would be a meter square, and would have pool-style retractable coverings to prevent weatherizing.

@Canon7D-Fanboy: 18% grey is required for proper exposure using a reflective light meter. Anything of neutral tone can be used to set a white balance. For what you're suggesting (using a known-color), generally a color card is used to ensure accurate color rendition. Color cards have a large sample size of

I hope we grow out of our stainless and zinc phase by then. We also already have number 11, and it sucks that we do.

@12345: That would be a bidet, and it's a French invention from the early 18th century.

@ObiHaiv: That tax you mentioned? It's been repealed many times since - it's essentially a war-time tax. The tax that got repealed in 2006 was due to the Vietnam war conflict. Overdue, yes. Not 108 years overdue though.

@Richard Servello: Think about the chemicals and energy required to manufacture silicon chips, printed circuit boards, the plastics, rubbers and whatever else is involved with that manufacturing.

@Purple Umpteenth - Zombie Dolpharktopus: But compared to India, the US, all of Europe, the eastern coast of South America... and comparing to how much spam that claims to be from Nigeria, the map looks out-of-balance.

Nigeria is suspiciously sparse.

Eh. A building with no personality.

It's called a Zeotrope, and it's quite an old animation tool.

@mangonights: The people in my city would greatly disagree with you. There are always people in the library, using the resources available to them. If you choose not to use this fantastic service, then it's your choice - but don't try to argue that it's irrelevant.

I hope it's better than the Canon one... I bought two of those, and the quality is embarrassing.

@JAlexoid: Mouser's saying it's a microcontroller.
