Russian may not be as well build as american but design accounts for questionable quality.
Look at russian jets / rifles / tanks. Not as great, but for fraction of cost, works in all conditions and can be fixed with sledgehammer (and sickle)

Since brititsh drive on the wrong side of the road, the driver is assuming their small car / van can easily clear the obstacle and are eye balling the inner (right) side. They leave enough space there to avoid those poles but don’t realize they effectively moved into them on the other side.
Problem is that lots of people believe they can navigate winter conditions in all-season tires. Then I see them in ditch or hood deep in somebody’s trunk. I know if weather is bad and I have all-seasons, I stay home.
Fine is relative word, for 80% of use cases, I agree, all season in most places does just fine. But when performance is needed (for either spirited driving or adverse weather) then right tire makes huge difference.
I used to put winter tires in lower NY area because of bad snow storms. Now I am cheap and stick with…
I think it is current problem and don’t see it as future potential issue, unless of course, company still offers resistance to improvements
All season tires are no-season tires.
I think those cities turned into prestige capitols as housing is only available to those that can afford it. Cities only look for those making 6+ digits for their paycheck cut. Anything else is undesirable. Since there is massive pay gap in jobs that support cities, it creates this problem. Economics support that…
You should take a look at offerings from Australia. They specialize in outback / overland expeditions and they have campers and trailers that you can take for serious offroading.
I drove in NL and found infrastructure is very well defined for bicycles. So many bike paths, clear signals and very limited road sharing (without any separation). So Dutch build for bicycle safety.
Texas doesn’t do that, as many said, most drivers probably don’t know how to ride bicycle
I don’t think it matters if its DMV in TX or NY (or even outside USA). Those departments are internationally recognized as dysfunctional institutions of evil and torture. They even teach that in kids movies.
But some are worse, Texas worse.
Another thing to consider that most people with unlimited speed, will only go up to 80mph because they know their own and vehicle capability.
With 1/3 hr min run time and 60mph speed, you can only cover 10 miles (assuming you come back), so it is actually quite impractical for most people. Unless you just want to play around in your (golf course sized) backyard
I think we have contradicting rules.
Getting license should be bumped to 18 years.
In USA, for some reason you can command massive SUV but you cannot be trusted with beer.
I see many companies offer those “generators”. I rather consider them to just be energy storage devices and they are only good for places where their capacity meets the needs.
I am yet to see practical examples. I see them mention job sites where big power tools are used, but in reality, most of those do have available…
It is big, it is weird, but is it practical? How would you even turn this beast around?
You probably need that samurai to be forward spotter
I also believe that Subaru has good reputation.
True is that most people simply do not care. I seen people buy cars with panel gaps that you can squeeze cat through but they were happy to get their “luxury” car. A minor fact that it had weird salvage tittle, didn’t matter.
Which in case of recent flooding in NY or in EU, it may not be such a bad idea #globalwarming
Reminds me of this girl that recently took a car and purposely run over a jogger. She won’t be trialed as adult either
