You know about crackdown on lane splitting and overall NYPD hate towards 2 wheelers?

Since Jalopnik wrote about TourX prices. I actually went to dealer to take a look.
Calling cops doesn’t mean anything, you just waste time. No damage, most won’t even give you police report.
I keep on mentioning it everytime Jalopnik is excited about new Gadgets in the car. Not only electronic modules are not repairable and require swap but just calibration itself can double the cost.
You spelled “football” wrong :)
You can also look at it as not a discriminatory matter but rather an incentive for owning one brand. Ie, we do see on highways, that super fuel efficient cars can use HOV lanes, or get preferred parking spots.
1. I would be interested in ride comfort. Since people buy Subbies and Crossovers in Tristate area due to horrible state of the roads.
Audi wants to appear more like premium only brand and manual is associated with poor folks. Premium options also didn’t allow stick to be part of it. I would very much love to buy manual S3 if it had a hatch..
I don’t think they make anything, just buy some product from chinese OEM and slap their logo on it. I see too many similar items on Amazon that either just differ by faceplate or sticker

I wonder how many cars remained in the lot but were submerged. Even on floor level there are electronics and wiring. How many will be sold as new?
like this?
You mean, like getting Medallion?
While it was well written article, I would not go as far as blaming all white people (even though, author did highlight it was due to some white people).
Since IT is one of the first departments that gets cuts and layoffs, I won’t be surprised it was place were MTA tried saving the most. Because I cannot think of more incompetent IT management otherwise
That’s true, but technology needs to mature and earn reliability.
I am personally getting tired of those technological gizmos. They will break and will make car prohibitively expensive to repair. So we will have fleet of mechanically sound cars heading to junkyard because electronics crapped out. I have “assist” packages on car and already feel pain of repair (aint cheap)
I work in semi-conductor industry and continues improvement is a norm for development, but change control is strict for manufacturing. Each part revision has to be re-qualified. And if part is to be replaced with new item (not just revision), it has to be re-integrated in product. Tesla cars are pretty much rolling…
I must thank NYC government for creating this shitshow. First they mandate use of medallions to cap number of cabs in the city and then they allow uber/lyft to bypass it altogether since they advertise themselves as black car service instead of ride hailing one. Those who could, ditched yellow cabs, but many are stuck…
I went through multiple school systems and must say that NYC is definitely one of the worst. Gentrification is a problem, but also a partial solution. Reducing crime rates propagating to schools does improve overall school performance. However, shutting down poor performing schools and sending ‘undisciplined’ kids to…
Speed cameras are cash grab, period. Usually they are paired with unreasonably low speed limit (to trigger speed cameras). There is similar concept with some red-light cameras (NYC, looking at you).
