Pistons fan here.  While I’m glad to have Blake G., I (and other Detroit basketball fans) genuinely miss Bobi and Tobi.  Glad to see they can keep their act together for even longer.  Only question:  Tobias Harris always seemed super-humble when he was with the Pistons; not sure what Boban saw that made him think

They were both in the most recent season.

THEY KNOW WHAT THEY DID!

“the heinous crime committed at the Saudi consulate” . . . Could you ask for a better example of what you’re doing when you use the passive voice?

Right?

What was unlikable about that Pistons team? Rasheed, ok, I can see how some might be annoyed. But Ben Wallace? Chauncey? Rip? Tayshaun? All very likeable.

Bron gets superstar calls, but he is great at so many aspects of basketball Harden’s whole game is disturbingly dependent on drawing fouls for acts that should not be fouls. And I say that as a neutral Pistons fan.

So much this.

I will be attending with my son, and we’re both psyched.  Great post about the event, but maybe add “Lucha Underground champion” to Penta’s resume?  He’s my son’s favorite.

That promo, and indeed that whole promo package, was outstanding.  Also, I saw Riddle and Keith Lee put on a heck of a match in an Evolve show earlier this summer.

As a long-time Lions fan, I gotta say this story is so . . . Lions.  See also Nate Burleson’s pizza-related injury.

As a Pistons fan, I appreciate the reference to Luke. However, he is going to miss the summer league with a leg injury.

Several white *coaches* have spoken out -- Pop, Kerr, and Stan Van Gundy at least.

As a long-time Pistons fan, I’m good with this.

+/- is the worst kind of stat in basketball. I’m not sure it really counts as “analytics.”

Yes he is. The Ellsworth/Riddle part was gold too.

Came for this, not disappointed.

Four seconds, not minutes, right?

Long-time Pistons fan here. Not going to argue with your main thesis, or even most of your supporting and even minor points. But no way is Ish Smith the most irreplaceable Piston. Ish plays hard, and is capable of being a decent, if limited, back-up point guard. But without blaming all of Detroit’s woes on Reggie

Superb Owl.
