What if, hear me out, you can have it both ways? Many people being harassed in online games absolutely do have thick skins and ignore it, but does that excuse the behavior? It doesn’t.

I play Overwatch, it’s probably the most toxic game I play. I laugh off every instance of toxicity thrown my way and make full use of

They’ve been showing their true colors long before the outbreak. If anyone wants something to do in quarantine, going down the “GameStop fuckery rabbit hole” will entertain you for hours.

When I first played Ultimate I played a game with myself where I tried to see how long I could go before I had to Google a spirit. It took quite a while before I actually stumbled on a character, but some of my friends played the game and were at a complete loss for who many of the spirits were right away, let alone

To each their own, but there’s definitely merit in longterm storytelling—it’s part of the reason why things like the MCU are so successful.

FF fans will be discussing FF7R developments for years to come, much in the same way FFXIV fans digest, discuss, and speculate on its major updates year round.

The amount of people complaining about how it will “take years to finish the story” for a game they already know the ending to is a bit ridiculous. These people would never survive something like FFXIV where waiting months to years for story advancements is literally the norm.

Somehow? Greninja has been insanely popular since it was first introduced and only gained popularity with Smash and its role in the anime. It’s topped a multitude of polls already as well.

To have not seen this coming is to not actually know Pokémon as well as you think you do.

It’s worth mentioning that I do play WoW as well, so I definitely have a point of comparison there. I should also clarify that I’ve been been playing FFXIV since 1.0 and into ARR’s launch. This was a huge leap for the game and I understand that players, like myself, who’ve been with the game since 2013 or earlier defin

1) I still wish that Final Fantasy XI had been named Final Fantasy Online (and similarly XIV to Final Fantasy Online II), largely just because I don’t play MMOs and so I can’t say “I’ve beaten every main series Final Fantasy game” without adding “...well except for the online ones”. So I don’t dislike them so much

Definitely. Hearthstone and Overwatch are better, but certainly are not impervious to issues. It amazes me that Hearthstone still has so many issues with the display of new cards in the collection manager.

The current D3 team is actually the Classic Games team, the same guys that shipped Reforged, ironically enough. When D3's dev team was completely abolished it was passed over to them.

It’s worth pointing out that the beta tests were for multiplayer specifically. That’s why everyone was so blindsided—a lot of the issues were in the campaign.

I also never said anything War3 needing a large QA team (WoW certainly does, though), just that this game seems to have had, well, almost no QA process applied

Same. Reaper of Souls really turned the ship around. It’s an absolute shame the second expansion was cancelled. Had they gone ahead with the original plan Diablo fans would have never had to experience nearly an entire decade of drought.

Here’s the thing about OW2. Based on what we’ve heard from interviews, Activision Blizzard wanted a true sequel so they could resell literally everything and Jeff Kaplan and the team said no.

What we’re getting is a compromise that’s very pro-consumer. The graphical and engine upgrades of a sequel are there, along with

It basically came down to resources here. War3 was a project of the (very small) classic games team with a lot of outsourcing. We know they have had plenty of staff on D4 for eons now, so any problems that arise from it will be completely different than what did in this game.

Fair point, I’ll give you that.

Where Blizzard is having the most issues is QA (since they fired most of them). That’s why WoW continues to be a buggy mess (games that old absolutely need that QA) and War3, being a remaster, shipped in the state it did.

Diablo 3 and StarCraft 2 are barely touched at this point and Overwatch and Hearthstone are much

Played it at BlizzCon—based on the build that had there it’s solid as hell. I’m definitely not worried about it. D4 and OW2 should be slam dunks.

I’m not exactly pleased with being unable to backup my save either—just like with Pokémon—but the actions of the few ruin it for the many.

The argument that Animal Crossing is not an online competitive game and therefore people should be able to play it as they please falls flat when you consider that Animal Crossing

It is. Animal Crossing games have always had save protection to prevent duping—as far back as the GameCube. It’s the same reason Pokémon does it.

Save backups would allow players to infinitely clone their items and bells.

That’s basically what happened here. War of the Visions is (most likely) going to be launching globally sometime this year and they’re all fighting for the same pool of money. Mobius is definitely the least popular of the four currently in English and the market can really only support so many.
