I’m the exact opposite and have never really played the console undocked much at all since launch, since I play most of my games at home anyway.

But in doing so, I can’t help but miss playing Nintendo handhelds (the Switch never actually felt like one to me for various reasons) so I’m actually really interested in the

The 2DS stripped the 3DS of its 3D and that worked out just fine.

I mean.. they weren’t transferable for the original model’s launch so why would this be any different?

Are you not a fan of TV shows, film universes, MMO stories, or any other kinds of longform narratives? The concept here isn’t much different.

Ironically enough, they still only have one released game. Over 10 years of being Riot Game(s) and they still only have a single published credit to their name.

The director actually took the pitch for Mr. Mime all the way to Ishihara to get it approved. So it wasn’t that they didn’t listen and just went with it anyway, it’s that it ultimately took a lot of work to convince TPC that it was a good fit for the film.

Square Enix of course wants people on FFXIV first and foremost and FFXI is treated as more of a side thing. It’s still there for the people that prefer the classic style of MMO over the modern style (FFXIV) and if people do want to play both then that’s great.

FFXIV is also set up in such a way that it’s not very

This is 100% the reason. We were already told that the heroes in Dissidia NT are pulled from a point in time after their journeys conclude. The exceptions would of course be Noctis and, to an extent Y’shtola, who is coming from FFXIV’s narrative at the time of NT’s release.

It’s not at all necessary, but if you really like the franchise like myself it’s fun to get both and pick out the differences for a second playthrough.

Even legendaries, the most difficult things to trade for, are eventually distributed as event Pokémon, so completing the games doesn’t *require* both versions at all.

Target is more or less doing fine. Here in California they are still everywhere with no closures at all, to my knowledge. I think the only major Target closures were the Canada branch of the business a few years back.

GameStop, on the other hand, yeah—things are not looking good there. But The Pokémon Company and

Not really. Pokémon is, first and foremost, a social in-person experience, despite its online features. There’s a reason we got Pokémon GO over a console MMO, because it promotes the kind of social interaction the OP is talking about.

If you’ve ever attend a Pokémon tournament or large scale event you will see that

The shortlist is basically Mario, Zelda, Animal Crossing, Pikmin, and Splatoon for what could be considered the *major* first party franchises. Other companies have a hand in pretty much everything else.

It’s highly unlikely that it’s a placeholder considering it has unique animations, a new cry, and a shiny form.

The digital copies of the 3DS titles (and Animal Crossing, among other games) have the exact same save check system you just described, so it’s not like Game Freak can’t do something like that. I don’t fault them for not allowing Let’s Go cloud back-ups, but this is ultimately on Nintendo because they’re the ones

This is really nothing new for Pokémon. I wasn’t expecting this for Splatoon 2, but I definitely was for Let’s Go. Even as far back as Colosseum you couldn’t back up your saves.

I’d say that overall, as a franchise, Pokémon is just as popular with the female demographic in Japan, but the competitive nature of the TCG has always caused that segment to skew male.

The issue with Hearthstone and Overwatch is that they sort of clash with the Switch’s design. Both are always-online multiplayer-focused games. Unlike something like Splatoon 2 with its story mode, neither game can function in portable mode without a hotspot of some kind. I’d love to see those ports happen anyway, but

What’s to criticize? If people like their portable port machine, want more portable ports, and keep buying said portable ports, then why not keep giving them more portable ports?

They already have started work on D4—multiple Diablo projects were officially announced to be in the works just last week and we’ve been seeing the job listings for ages now.

Expect a BlizzCon announcement.

Even if it is a flash in the pan, and I think it will be to a certain extent, I’ve always been adamant that it’s still very important for it to exist from a historical and game preservation standpoint. Classic WoW servers will essentially be a living museum of what the game once was and the only way to experience a
