I feel that it's a facet of my identity. It's not the only thing that defines me but it isn't something I can bootstrap my way out of by any means.

Or ADHD.

I'm self-diagnosed and currently working my way to an actual diagnosis. For years I've thought I was just broken. But then I read about this condition and things fell into place.

It is rather broad and uncompromising. I imagine they'll be coming up with a new term to clarify it soon enough when people keep getting confused.

Yeah, no. It's more like you gain the language and knowledge to navigate a foreign society. But it has never been and will never be home.

Thanks for this post. It confirms a lot of things I have suspected about being diagnosed as well (hopefully that will come for me sometime in the future).

The 'mild' versions aren't as obvious to others. Looking relatively or acting 'normal' leads to being seen as less in need of understanding or help, unfortunately.

Sounds like those guys just cherry-picked the 'cool' parts and none of the awful downsides. Anyone who actually has it would be be trying to get a diagnosis, I would think. I'm sorry people pulled this kind of crap. :\

Couldn't agree more. That alone tinted my view forever on what followed. Not that a different song would have made things much better, but still.

I suppose they see it as a duty and a charity. From personal experience, it is sold harder to family members or friends. But they would love it if everyone else was "in the fold" as well. Good people are going to waste just because they're unbelievers. God wants the message spread. That sort of thing.

Soda. Out of my nose. God, that was worth this joke.

Oh good lord, that is golden. Thanks for the link.

No. Nope. Nuh-uh. I refuse to lose the last shred of my faith in human decency. This was obviously a troll quote, a troll quote, a troll qu...

Eh, Hawkeye has more sass, lol. Where did you find it, by the way?

Sometimes I imagine the perfect Wonder Woman show as a period piece in the 40s with the S&M elements still touched upon. And superpowers too, yeah, that's fine, whatever. *cough*

*o*

Is that ... a thong?

Decry someone's lack of privacy.

The term sold out is played out.

Not embarrassed to say that the original introduced me to the fantastic fabulousness that is Erasure.
