Yeah, I agree with you on the mispronunciation thing. The customer was obviously being horrible, and I understand the "make it like Starbucks!" annoyance. But "cafe", "caffe", and "coffee" all mean the same thing, originally. Espresso and drip coffee both come from coffee beans, although they've been processed

I felt the same way about the books and I've been loving the show so far. We'll see how it progresses.

Okay, well, Lost Girl is no Orphan Black in terms of quality ... but it's good unexpected popcorny fun!

First, eating all the things is totally okay. All that other shit sucks. Have you seen Orphan Black? It's gritty, but not as bleak as The Fall (which I love, but is not always what I want to see.). Orphan Black is one of those shows that - not to oversell it - was recommended to me by people 10 years younger than me,

Now playing

I'm going to get lost in greys, I imagine, but I have lost a dear one recently and am far from home, and for me this is a solid Saturday night introspective:

Dear god. How is your cousin these days?! When I was about the same age a neighbour kid persuaded me to let her put "liquid eye shadow" on my eyelids. It was nail polish. Luckily, it was the peel-off kind, but it still hurt like crazy and tore the skin coming off.

Completely agree. I was extra mad at myself when I got to the end and realized it was truly shit and worse shit from about the midpoint on.

Wow. Okay - I liked the first episode a lot, but I'm not sure I can handle the child death theme. And I might not be able to stick with it if the whole thing is on that model of the different ways the two of them remember events.

Oh dear! Well, my friend is from Dundee - maybe a regional thing?

I want the technology to play this on an infinite loop in my home, on a frequency that my children can hear and I can't.

I turned 39 a couple of weeks ago, and it felt older than I thought it would, and I've been completely strapped with work/life/marriage/kids stuff ... and then a few days ago, while heading out of town, this young-Javier-Bardem-looking guy who turns out to be a legit published author tried real hard to pick me up. So

Nothing to do with your post, but I just met someone from Scotland who said "Emma" is not a popular name where she's from, because "Emma" is how people there pronounce "I'm a". Which makes me wonder if that's where your user name comes from?

Spicy Mexican followed by sex - went into labour 3 hours later (on my due date, though - wasn't even trying to induce).
