This is a really big deal, because I'm defined by who I want to have sex with. If I can't proclaim that in every aspect of my life, then I am nothing.

I love id, but I don't think they have the talent or the design philosophy to compete in a modern genre of shooters. We are no longer doing corridor shooters, we are now in the generation of Bioshock Infinite and other similarly complex, emotional and compelling stories, characters and game worlds.

We'll have to see if they can do something with the next gen but I seriously doubt it. The PS4 is a 2years old PC and even now PC's are not really ready to do things like liquid simulation and others. IDs days are counted, they aren't relevant anymore.

Being PC only was why they were relevant. They could do games that were not possible on consoles and dictated the future of gaming, for PC and console.

After the disaster we had with RAGE because they made some lower console game I doubt we'll be seeing doom anytime these next two years.
