Not all Audis have a longitudinal engine layout. See the A1, A2, A3 and TT.

I agree with almost everything you said. RWD really doesn't make sense for 99.9% of people and car manufacturers.

Might as well put my university lectures on "Powertrain Technologies" to use! I could go on for pages, but the long and short of it is that gearboxes tend to be based on whatever tech and experience that region has. So Japan tends to have CVT, US tends to use transmissions based on torque converters and because Europe

As in it's a manual gearbox where the car can do the shifting for you. An automatic is designed to shift gears for you. A DSG etc system is based on manual gearbox tech, hence it being an automated manual. Similar system to that employed on Formula 1 cars. You'd hardly call them "slushboxes".

Hence why the EU clamping down on car emissions is most definately a good thing. Now if only they could replace buses with trains and the underground...

Rules also apply to ininsured Polish drivers in BMWs who run me over...

Yes, yes it is.

I was born in the 90s and still remember my dad having "Ericsson" phones, so you surely can't be that old!

Err, I hear the iPhone is pretty good at distracting drivers?

Agreed. The only Apple product I ever owned is an iPod, and my brother Mac fell apart. Pixar however is one of the best companies in the world. RIP Steve!
