In the post, we see an exuberant, happy, unselfconscious kid who just wants to jump around, have fun, and play with anyone who'll join him. In many of the comments, we see the social forces that will do their damnedest to crush that out of him. Courage, small person. Keep being you, keep doing the Calvin and Hobbes

No. No babies in bars. Ever. Any circumstances.

Don't imply things like "the US is the worst in the world" and then shuffle off with "oh by the way I'm just talking about Northern Europe in comparison." If you want to compare the US to *just* Northern Europe, go nuts. Just don't roll with this "it's a uniquely US" thing.

Or maybe he just has no other seemingly non sexual way of showing affection for you. I understand and respect your POV because when you don't want to be touched that's the end of it and nobody has the right to your person regardless of who they are - but it reads different to a person who supposedly cares about you

GamerGate is simultaneously the dumbest internet "movement" I've ever seen and one of the most vile. Anyone who identifies with it is complicit in the rampant misogyny and death threats, all in the name of making writers about VIDEO GAMES hold to the standards of "real" journalism (which is nonsense, and gives video

Heh, last Halloween when I saw someone on Bourbon street dressed as a Native American I went over and said "Are you dressed as a Washington Redskins fan?" They did not get what a sick burn I had just laid down, because stupid bigots are clueless.

Detroit is a 100% separate issue. It's about who foots the bill for water and city resources rather than availability and scarcity.

Why don't you just say I'm probably on my period, that's as original and effective

Wow. Terrible on so many levels.

I don't want to be friends with anyone who WON'T consider crashing a wedding.

Yeah, someone seems to take themselves a wee bit too seriously. From the article it doesn't sound like they went crazy or anything.

Crashing a wedding, something that takes an enormous amount of time, energy, and money is a pretty awful thing to do.

Do you think we could possibly be as bad as a generation which elected Reagan, sat idly by while millions died of AIDS, elected two Bushes, started two unwarranted wars, and abandoned cities like Detroit? I think the bar is set pretty low.

Funny, it wasn't Millennials that were born into America's biggest boom period and drove us right back into the great depression. Thanks for destroying everything the greatest generation worked their asses off to give you. Now we're left to pick up the pieces while you call us names on your way out. Please, get bent.

Perhaps the "my generation" bit is a nod to the fact that the Baby Boomers abandoned virtually every major city in America and then voted for politicians who might as well have lit them on fire in the 80s-00s, whereas Millennials (while sometimes annoying and clueless to the plight of vulnerable populations) are

I thought Amy Adams just became very close friends with her husband's (female) OS?

Why would men in other parts of the world behave any differently than you? You're all biologically male, are you not? Also noticed the veiled threat men often deploy when they're criticized about their treatment of women: Watch yourself/know your place because we could treat you much worse.

Why? It's not like it says "Only men look more at your body than your face". It's still true.
