I didn't say they were better people by any means. I would argue that they are actually worse off, because they have the inability to see past their status.
Moving outside of mainstream places is also a thing that the working class cannot afford to do all the time. So. I am going to say my point still stands.
Subcultures cost money, though. Have you ever taken a gander at the lolita subculture and their rhetoric about replica wear? Fascinating stuff, and while most of them acknowledge the bias towards thinner women, they don't really recognize the class concerns (some do, not many).
