@skaven: I thought the same thing. Considering that EA cranks out a new Madden game each year, it's surprising they haven't used their engine to bring out a next-gen Mutant League.

@RockyRan: You've got a good point there. Technology has never moved as quickly as it has in our time. Five years ago, iPhones, Youtube and Twitter didn't exist — now we see them every day.
To me, the only "real" Link to the Past comic will always be the 12 issue adaption that ran in Nintendo Power way back in 1992, which was drawn by Shotaro Ishinomori (the artist who, among other things, created what we know in America as Power Rangers.)
Stewart is just about the coolest man alive. I hope I'm that open to new technologies and ideas when I'm his age.
@ingofreak: Good God, you're right! I've wasted my life!
@Bubbleman!: I would say XII did a fine job of tackling deep issues than any FF game before it, to the point that it made me reflect on the plots of previous installments in a new way. Which might be why it's so unpopular. Ever since FF7, fans of the series seem to prefer spectacle over story.
@LoungeDinosaurian: Wait, the Ferengi are saving SOMEONE ELSE money?
COMING SOON: World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Other Lich King.
@dsectric: The problem is, CBS IS playing politics. Even if they don't mean to, they're allowing an ad with a blatantly political message. The second they do that, they're taking sides. I would prefer they keep politics out of the game altogether; either run both the ads, or run neither of them. But CBS has made its…
CBS' super bowl ad standards are kind of amazing.
The demo seems to make it a point to treat the characters as people with unique personalities which are informed by, but not DEFINED by, their disabilities. As long as it stays that way, I don't see a problem. It would be one thing if the only thing there was to know about these characters was their disabilities, but…
@jayntampa: Once again, superior Cardassian logic triumphs over your pitiful Earth logic!
@icarus212001: Some early copies of the game had Mari-Oh (as did the game's print ad) but most of them changed him to have a different name and slightly changed sprite. It would be neat if they restored him for the Virtual Console edition, but I doubt they bothered.
@OperationTophat: How is it a stretch? You wanted character dialog, you got character dialog. That it wasn't spoken was the fault of the hardware the game was running on. The Prime games are a sub-series made by a different developer than the main series, anyway. Fusion is the most recent game of the main Metroid…
@OperationTophat: Samus has a voice. She narrated Metroid Fusion way back in 2002. Okay, technically she spoke in text dialog, but it was a GBA game after all.
So I guess you're not a functioning adult unless you lack the imagination to enjoy a video game where your character's motivations aren't spoonfed to you by a bunch of unnecessary exposition.
The thing I love about the tone of the Mario games is that even as every other franchise, and the industry as a whole, has moved toward dark, complex storytelling, attempts to tackle "serious issues" and a general lack of simple fun, the most popular game franchise of all time remains one of the few that refuses to…
As excellent as Uncharted 2 was, I would really have to give it to Demon's Souls. It brought a level of intensity, tension, challenge, and pure enjoyment to the RPG genre that I haven't seen in a long, long time. It answered the charge that JRPG's are creatively stagnant and then obliterated it.
Bioware's latest obvious attempt at getting more media attention already revealed.
Okay, now:
