@GenRedLeader: I'm willing to bet the majority of Kotaku readers own Wiis. They just never PLAY them anymore...but now they have a reason to. #newsupermariobroswii

Swapping dics in a Final Fantasy is kind of nostalgic for me. I remember getting to the end of each disc on the old PS1 FF games and thinking of it as a big milestone each time. Especially in FF9, which made a point of giving you a big climatic event at the end of each disc. I doubt that will happen in XIII, though,

Bowser is a determined man. I don't think it's even about marrying Peach anymore. It's just about following through with his original plan. Or maybe it's an OCD thing. Maybe if he sees an even number of birds fly by or something, he simply HAS to kidnap the Princess. #princesspeach

You've got to admire a franchise that periodically turns our idea of how a video game can be played on its ear. Mario has done this at least twice, first with the original Super Mario Bros., then with Mario 64, and now maybe even a third time. That's nothing short of amazing.

@grantanamo: There is no logical reason why this move "fucks over third party games." Mario Bros Wii is already the biggest Wii release of the year, it's not like Family Fun Minigame Challenge 4 would have outsold it if not for the red box. #newsupermariobroswii

@MelvilleAbensen: Agreed, this will probably be much more successful in countries where cards as not as big, and among those who don't have cards.

Okay, Nintendo, you've finally taken your viral marketing too far. #supermariobros

@Cpryd001: I think Peta would LOVE to get sued by Nintendo. The free publicity would be more than worth the legal fees, especially since the case would almost certainly be thrown out (it's a non-profit parody, which is protected by the 1st amendment) and then they could play the role of the poor little victim that

Awww, I still remember the "Cooking Mama Kills Animals" protest from last year.

I always thought the Frog Suit was the weak link among the suits. I mean, sure it lets you swim fast (or swim without tapping A) but it has no offensive capabilities in the water, which makes it inferior to a good old common fire flower. #newsupermariobroswii

@The Cap'n: Yes. The Hammer Bros. suit was by far the coolest. It was absolutly invaluable in the Pipe World, and the fact that it was so rare (there are what, maybe four in the entire game?) made playing with it much more exciting — you were so worried about losing the suit that it made the levels really intense.

You know you've got a masterpiece on your hands when the most memorable part of the trailer involves the Prince implying that he's shoved the time dagger up his butt.

When it comes time to stand up for your beliefs, it takes a special kind of person to have the courage to say "I choose to make my stand over an issue that has no real importance whatsoever." #modernwarfare2

@Alex_Mexico: DVD size might be a factor, but my guess is that the game was simply a victim of the first title's success. Activision's well-known policy of pumping out yearly sequels to its big franchises means MW2 was probably produced on a much tighter schedule than the last one. That means less time to craft a

@Scorpi: He kind of sort of maybe does something resembling plumbing in the original Mario Bros. Most plumbers clear crabs and turtles out of pipes that are bigger than a man, right? #newsupermariobroswii

@DigitalHero: Mario 64 seemed more concerned with developing a consistent 3D world than with giving Mario amusing power-ups, which I can't blame them for. There were probably all sorts of ideas for cool suits which were left by the wayside in favor of concentrating on the basics. This sort of thing happens when

@Archaotic: Yoshi's Island does a wonderful job of feeling totally different from any other Mario game, and yet still feeling like a Mario game. And that's something in a series with as much gameplay variety as this one.

@Orionsaint: So you don't like paying for products that eventually get replaced in favor of a new model, huh?
