And yet, I’m a big fan of the giant TOYOTA across the back of the old pickups. I think in then end it just comes down to execution.

This has always bugged me...because what I’d rather do is delete the Porsche script, not the model. Just like it was in the olden days where you only had the model on the back....nobody needed to be told it was a Porsche.

Doh, brain fart. Flat 6.

It looks great and all, but as a previous owner of a 987 Cayman, I’m not sure I could ever get over the 4-cylinder in this. The sound of that NA inline 6 roaring behind you was one of its most endearing features.

I know it’s not the correct response, but I wish Jalopnik itself would dial back the activism. This site is best when it’s a nice respite from reality, where we share in the love of cars and motorsports. Too often now it’s being dragged into the same hyper-political climate of mocking and finger wagging.

I remember driving in Manhattan feeling like a relaxed country cruise after 2 weeks in Naples.

plans on bringing back “one way or another.”

That, and it looks awful.

I also miss the cloth (or in this case mouse-fur?) seats. Generally more comfortable in all conditions, and there was something more honest about them compared to the fake-leather/vinyl on every car these days.

If this is true, why would you not want to say their name? Enlighten your fellow car shoppers.

The only good part of the Flachbau was that it had pop-up headlights. Removing them is downright silly. Pop up all the things!

As as current and former Volvo owner, apart from the discontinuation of the excellent 6-cylinder engine, the sloped backs are my number one qualm with new Volvos. Well, and the touch screen controls. And the move towards Chinese construction. Ok, so I have a few qualms.

I’m always surprised how much time, effort, and money people will spend to cheapen both the look of their car, and other people’s perceptions of them

It’s a real shame, because the previous turbo 6 cylinder (ie an accurately named T6!) was fantastic.

I

Ugly face? Check. Awful blindspot? Check. Yep, it’s another crossover.

I’ve only ever seen one of these on the roads (and it was in Subaru loving Denver), but it definitely had a great profile and real presence about it. Even my wife made a random positive comment about it.

If I can’t buy it, it may as well not exist. Actually, I would prefer it didn’t, because then I wouldn’t pine for it.

Or just make a GTI version of the wagon.

You keep talking about women needing to be treated equally in the automotive world, yet insist on always bringing up the topic. This woman was probably hired solely for her professional competence, but stories like this makes one question the motive. If you want women to be on equal ground, stop talking about them
