Except for that whole thing about cargo space that actual wagons do so well. It drives well, but it ain’t no wagon.

Porsche 928. Always lusted after them and thought they were one of the most beautiful cars ever designed (still do!). They were part of my “recreate the 80s in my garage” dream.

Personally I still would’ve preferred Cellica from day 1.

Yeah, in that case the Metris is probably a bit too underpowered for your needs.

You may want to look into the new Mercedes Metris van, which has tow rating of 4960 pounds. That’s not too shabby and should be able to handle a good chunk of travel trailers.

Ha, yeah thats exactly the conundrum. From an architecture standpoint MB wins...but then Porsche has all the Porsches. Then again, I also loved all the 70s/80s Mercedes they had on display. But Porsche had the workshop to peep into. But then Mercedes had the banked wall of race cars.

Regardless of brand-bickering, the Mercedes museum is a must-see for any car guy... it’s awesome both in terms of the collection and the architecture. And the once you’re done there, you can hop on the train and head over to the equally awesome Porsche museum on the other side of town. I’m still trying to decide which

The hardest part is deciding which one. As much as I like a Martini theme, Id lean towards the Alitalia here.

Knowing how bad traffic can get in LA, Im not sure I recommend getting the Cayman then. This car hates going slow, and is really stiff at those speeds. PDK or not, it’s going to suck. You’d be better off getting a crappy Camry for the commutes, and leave the Cayman for the trips down the PCH or Mulholland!

I have the stick, so I don’t have any feedback on the PDK for you unfortunately...but Ive never heard of a PDK being a sore point amongst Porsche owners (at least not in terms of reliability, ha).

Those are usually the people who can’t afford a Cayman.

As a Cayman owner myself, two things I need to respond to:

You definitely need designers. After working with them in some capacity for over a decade, Im still not convinced anyone in Marketing isn’t just a complete pylon/roadblock.

Designers and Engineers should be leading the way with ever project. Bring in the bean counters 75% of the way in. Marketers should only be allowed to see the finished product that they have to sell.

Yes! Dammit, yes!

Sweet, now we just need the Westfalia pop top and I’m ready to give cash money.

Looks great, apart from:

Tesla owners = combining the insufferable nature of Prius owners, with the arrogance of the rich. Just great.

1) There are never too many Porsche stories.

As with Chevy, I wish they went with a monochrome logos with their badging, especially inside. The primary colors undercut the elegance of the other materials.
