Well, that's rectified through a change in protagonists; is anyone really that enamoured with Kratos that they couldn't accept someone new?
This story definitely puts a smile on this Emerson alumnus' face. I miss those days sometimes; a truly great school!

It's all nonsense, really. Most of these are applicable to men too—I've seen it myself—and the rest are inane stereotypes. And don't try and tell me that those "male grunts" don't sound sexual; who is he trying to fool? Hah!
I remember "Show and Tell" in Kindergarten when I'd take stuff out of the box and talk about it as if it were "something cool." I never really thought of it as mine, but I clearly didn't understand a concept that was readily apparent to all the other kids...lol.
I got along even worse with teachers in that period...hah!
I didn't attend, but if I ever had children, I would probably send them there. I was a poorly socialized child, and it really took me around 3 years to "act normally." I'd do it for the socialization alone.
More good points. I don't have the answers either, needless to say!
An interesting point; both, say, Victoria's Secret and Calvin Klein ads are targeted toward what men find attractive, and it's an apt comparison since both are in the "sexy underwear" business.
I think an issue, perhaps, is that men and women "diet" for different reasons. The female ideal is thin as a rail, whereas the male ideal is huge and muscular.
What happened to Detroit? Racism and white flight. It's worth remembering that this happened before the decline of the auto industry; the race riots were in 1967, whereas unions and wages hit their apex in 1972 (if my memory is correct). Now what hurt Michigan was the 1980s when it became fashionable to outsource…
I have to respectfully pose the question as to how this is functionally any different than the North American obsession with routine male circumcision? People—both men and women—have these misplaced ideals about what genitals "should look like," think it looks "icky" otherwise, so they have a doctor go in and cut. I…
"Wibbly wobbly timey wimey"—want to bet that ends up being the explanation? I love the show and have for a couple of decades now, but Moffat does tend to eschew any larger significance to anything.
I enjoy the irony, of course, that Canadians are apparently not privileged enough to watch this video ("not available in your country").
Aquinas isn't solely responsible for that attitude; much of it originated several centuries prior with Augustine, and so while Aquinas refuted much of his theology (and was very controversial during his lifetime for doing so), he certainly furthered and created problems of his own.
The thing is, JPII inherited a "relatively" liberal framework when he assumed the papacy. John XXIII, Paul VI, and even JPI all were in a more "reformist" trajectory. JPII, however, very purposely eschewed that. He purposely chose to transform the Church into a highly centralized structure ("ultramontanism")…
There is little theological difference between JPII and the current pope. JPII had this guy as his chief doctrine enforcer for almost his entire papacy, and his election was done with the idea that he would stay the course with JPII's theology. And he has.
The Vatican is full of code words that are only properly understood if you up-to-date with their theology. And remember, we're talking 2000 years of arcane theology at their fingertips, so even the most ardent Catholics usually don't truly understand what they're saying.
