I suppose that's true, but I still feel that moving two encounters out of 50 or so to the newest expansion is wet different than moving all of the encounters. If you didn't get Lich King you could still do a TON of content in Vanilla and BC, you only lose two raids from vanilla that most people weren't touching at all…

That’s true, but the intention was far more motivated by narrative than money. They didn’t remove all of the BC and Vanilla raids and 5-mans in the process, they just retooled and re-released one single vanilla raid that had a lot to do with the storyline they were presenting.

Of course it didn’t, no MMO ever does that with their expansions. EQ never did it, WoW never did it, etc... It’s not done, this may be the first time that an MMO expansion actually locked vanilla content from vanilla-only players, it’s ludicrous.

Yeah, I grew up in a place where Catholic hospitals were the only game in town, the nearest non-Catholic hospital was a 6 hour drive away.
