LOT is hands down the worst airline I've ever flown. They refuse to take normal sized overhead rollers, awful food, no personal entertainment thingies (they do have complimentary Polish newspapers!)

The new planes have personal entertainment. Not too bad, actually.

I've been on their new planes for NY-Moscow flights. No legroom, but good amenities (screens at every seat, USB chargers). People do inevitably smoke on the Moscow-NY trip...old habits die hard, I guess.

I'm with you on personal responsibility, but the choices of others do affect us. Lack of gear contributes heavily to high motorcycle fatality rates, which are used by lawmakers to keep us eons behind CA/Europe when it comes to bike laws.

I'm still a gear nazi. Less/worse gear=more fatalities=more reasons for lawmakers to pass anti-bike legislation or fail to pass smart legislation.

I flew Aeroflot NY-Moscow a couple years ago...on the return journey to NY, the pilot kept on yelling over the intercom, telling the passengers (in Russian) to put out their cigarettes. Amazing.
