The difference IS profound (though for the record DX9 has been able to handle high-end normals for years). That is what caused the performance issues. You may not remember, but many moons ago people worked out how to turn on most of those in the DX9 settings with a config hack.

    I know :c

I was referring to the DX10, which when activated slow the engine down to a crawl due to it being glued onto an engine that was originally going to be DX9 only.

Unoptimised in the sense that it was a DX9 base engine that had DX10 thrown on mid-way through the development cycle. I could, in fact, run it fine on release. A target high-end does not mean the game engine was optimised.

People also need to remember that one of the reasons the "But will it run Crysis" meme came about was because the Cry Engine used was horribly unoptimised.

Homeworld remains my one defining title. My one game I will always play. The thing that upsets me about it, though, is that if you ask people for five defining RTS, Warcraft, Starcraft etc will always come up, but a mention of Homeworld is rare.

I've heard reports of people going through it in 8 or 9 =)

Luke I'm afraid you're not quite accurate - costs, probably, but not currency types.

I did get through five hours of the damn thing, so it's not like I commented without a good taste =p

    Ok, that i can understand.

Wait a second, if you don't pay anything you can't whisper/tell someone? Well, that's me gone.

Pretty much, though I have to admit, I ended up watching the end of DNF on youtube. I simply couldn't sit through it any longer.

I used to be that kid, but even when I eventually could afford a YoYo late I played with that bastard until it broke. The thing about Toys is that they are fun, hot or not. Duke simply isn't.

Can I whore my argument for why Duke doesn't get it one more time? Please? :c

Personally I think it's the increased awareness the general public have with film critics. If the majority of the Internet is saying it is a bad film, most will listen.

Oh FPS specifically you are correct, but for other genres I've seen more 1080i/p on PS3 than the 360.

From what I gather, the majority of the time it actually works in reverse.

I was specifically talking about first party. Should have made that clear. Sorry.

Because TF2 is their main cash cow right now with microtransactions.

I like being able to see, thank you ;)
