New story, from what I gather. Then again the games were never really about story - every game except for Terran Conflict had a story that was considered a tutorial. X2: The Threat was the main example.
Only for PS3, and that is mainly due to the PS3 version being linked into Steam.
If you're talking the original Half Life, remember that the PS2 version came out 3 years after the original release on PC. Some improvement was demanded!
