It's pretty tough to call ES lore generic. Morrowind's setting was pretty unique and the lore describes some amazing places and races. How many ES games have you played?

This is Zenimax. Single player ES games are a cash cow. They'll keep making them while Zenimax Online works on this.

There is no way to tell this is the Elder Scrolls Universe. No beast races, no Orsimer, no unique weapons or armor, no iconic structures. This looks like generic fantasy setting #538.
