I bought a 24 Hour Fitness membership there, it was a 2 year up front cost but it comes out to right around $15/mo. The cheapest option I could get otherwise was $30/mo so it was well worth it.

The source post doesn't mention it, but Costco gas alone might be worth the membership. (Unfortunately, my Costco doesn't have that)

Don't buy coffee in bulk and store it. Buy fresh roasted beans and grind on demand. Some things aren't worth saving money on.

Where do you live where you can buy a house for $42K? I'm guessing South or Midwest. Here in the Northeast, you need $42K just for the downpayment.

Nice piece. Thank you.

I had some medical bills on my credit.. and by some I mean a lot. I called the different collection agencies and asked them if I paid them in full if they would delete the collections from my credit. It worked every single time. I did have to pay them, but I only paid the ones that agreed to the removal. I got

Adding a shortcut on my Mac does not make it appear on my iPad / iPhone. Anyone else seen this?

Well look who's here. Mr. Perfect. Enlighten everyone on your perfect life, perfect credit score and perfect everything. Your so amazing....... D-bag.

Wait wait wait 'em out! I've got a couple that I've taken care of, and one that was so long ago that I just let go past the 12 year mark. It's not showing up anymore, maybe that's awful for my credit, but when I just had it run to get a new place, I was told that it was in good shape, with very little activity on it.

What happened to Mozy? It is not even a contender?

Your credit report is the single most inaccurate thing about you. Unless you are trying to live on credit, don't worry about it. Having a score of 670 will not have people pointing at you in the streets or force you to wear a Scarlet letter. Now dishonest companies using your credit score to rob you, like

It's for this reason that I'm just ignoring an old debt I have (that really wasn't fair in the first place). In a year or two the statute of limitations will be up, and it will no longer be reported on my credit. If I were to pay it now, that would reset. Although, if they decided to sue, I could get screwed pretty

a few things about debt and credit scores...

Using CrashPlan doesn't have to mean that you don't trust Time Machine. Time Machine is meant to be a dead-simple backup solution for people with a spare external hard drive. Meanwhile, CrashPlan protects you against many worst-case scenarios. I, for one, use both! The Time Machine backup is fast and simple. The

No "try before I buy" feature - this drives me nuts about the App Store. Looks nice, but without being able to check it out, it's not happening. Potential lost sale for the developers.

Just downloaded it. Nice program which I will use daily.
