This sounds like something George Bush would have come up with, "Hey! Let's give everyone $10 to spend, it will boost the economy and bring us out of the recession."

if you have defined savings goals with a number attached to them, saving is easy.
This is a joke, right? There is no need to trick yourself into saving. Just save. It really is that simple. The more complicated you make it, the less likely you are to do it. Decide what you are saving for, how much you need to save, and you'll see how easy it is.
Basically this story summatizes John C Bogle's book 'The Little Book of Common Sense Investing'. Index funds do well on both efficient and inefficient markets. In main differentiator between index funds is cost.
No one here mentioned chloroform yet? Lifehacker is slipping. Haha.
In addition to relaxing and exercise to tire myself out, I tend to take melanton about 45 minutes before bed. It's hit or miss in that sometimes I'll fall asleep and sleep normally, and other times I'll wake up 2 hours later.
What do you do when it's 14 degrees below zero out and it?'a windy?
I can attest to the effects of alcohol.I've tried taking a shot of vodka before be to help me relax, but the effect is more like had a shot of espresso. Lesson learned!
I don't believe that 'not learning' something can be considered a mistake. If you aren't taught or exposed to an idea, it can hardly be you fault for not knowing it. It's even worse if you are only exposed to bad ideas, which can be the result of bad parenting, marketing, social groups and other influences that can…
This goes under 'even the best plans are not guaranteed to succeed'. You can be doing everything right and then get smacked down by a life event such as sickness, natural disaster, law suit , theft and so on.
LI find it better to keep track of where every cent goes . Being able to see all of my saving and spending ( organized by category) let's me quickly notice if I'm spending too much money on somethint( snacks, food, dining out, etc) and cut back. It also let's you know whether or not you are on track for you financial…
Even people who aren't using the Dave Ramsey debt snowball method of getting out of debt tend to agree that minimizing the amount of the student loan and paying it off as quickly as possible.
I'm a calorie counter but I like pizza as well. I pretty much have to starve myself the day I want to have pizza to stay below my daily calorie limit. My willpower is ineffective against pizza , so it's better for me diet-wise if pizza costs more. Plus if I have left overs, there is a chance that I'll guilt trip…
I'm with you. First impressions are usually what decisions are made from . You may be an amazing responsible person who fell on hard times or just doesn't want a reasonably nice looking car. But when your date sees your beater car, her first thought is - this guy is probably a druggie alcoholic loser...is that who I…
ok. I'll have to wait for my work to buy and install a stove in the break room before I can. I'll let you know how that works out.
but warming girls with friction works better.
The author lives in Fairy Tale land. I guess this works for buying a car that you don't actually use. you can get a decent car that won't start for that price.
Go ahead and buy it. you earned it.
So I should show up in a rust bucket to pitch a 2 million dollar home to my client ? Clients will take one look at that car and pass in the sale, thinking, 'if his realty skills only make him enough to afford that, how reliable can he be?'
No. The rule of thumb that I use is buy a new car if you will drive it for 10 years, a 4+ year old used car if you plan on driving it for 10 years. And a downright beater if you're in debt up to your eyeballs and are working Dave Ramsey's money makeover plan.
I have an automatic sorter to keep things today. But when I take them to the bank or Coinstar, I have to break them up to put into their coin counter . The only benefit is that they are easier to store and count when they are all
Rolled up.
