Yeah. I’m of the firm opinion that splitting evenly never works in a big group. There’s always at least one of the following wildly unfair situations:

A lot of places, you can’t not go. It’s expected. Even if it’s not mandatory fun, unless you have a good reason, you look like an ass. You’re not a team player. Show up for an hour, make sure you talk to a few people, then pull an Irish goodbye.

I just hate the inconvenience of 1. having to carry cash, and 2. having to be ready to pull it out at any given moment because someone unnecessarily helps you
the reality is that the possibility of getting sick or laid off is even more reason to focus on saving and investing, not a reason to throw up your hands and say its hopeless.
We all know the fastest way to save $1MM is to take a small loan from your father.
I don’t really care about clicks, tbh. I thought the problem was interesting, and it allows me to explain some general concepts behind why you might be seeing websites you didn’t intend to see... :)
I prefer all of these things to being next to someone wearing lots of perfume and cologne.
I did this years ago. I Was surviving fine on my salary, so i took my annual raise and put it right into my 401K best decision i ever made. I never missed it. Would that extra money have been nice? Yes. But by acting like it was never there i never felt the loss.
Someone pretty much called me a capitalist pig blaming poor people for being for pointing that out, and like not everyone needs a two-bedroom apartment. I’m more outraged that someone making minimum wage can’t afford a one-bedroom, possibly not even a studio. But I make a decent amount and I can’t afford a two-bedroom…
My issue now is ‘high rent with shit no one needs and i can’t afford’ and ‘low income to moderate income units that I either make way too much to qualify for or there are like 2 in a development that have already been rented before ground was even broken’
This is one of the major issues I see in housing - not so much that people can’t afford two bedrooms, but that there’s no in-between housing in general. There are a ton of luxury units with shit no one needs, and then low income housing that no one cares about. IMO, we need to be building just really solid housing,…
Don’t forget the Doritos in a Pepper Grinder seasoning.
I really hope someone sees this. I’ve been commenting on Gawker/Kinja sites for over a decade, and I’m still in the grey.
Go when they have the food and wine festival at Epcot. Stay in Animal Kingdom and have morning coffee with the giraffes. Go to the pool at Beach club. Avoid all the rides, you don’t need ‘em.
Absolutely. Magic Kingdom may not hold much fun for childless adults (it’s way too crowded) but Epcot is grown folk playground, especially when a festival (Food and wine or flower fest) is going on. The countries all get these special walk up with specialized cuisine and alcohol. The food sizes are small but that’s…
Open the park. Get up early and get there maybe 15-20 minutes before opening. You’ll have the run of the park for a few hours, enough time to get on the really popular rides before everyone else shows up.
(1) When they become actual friends with whom I spend time outside of work or (2) when one of us leaves and I genuinely want to stay in touch with them. Everybody else gets LinkedIn
I audibly gasped when I learned this. So much wasted time and space!!!
Well now I feel like a big chump. You just freed up a bunch of countertop/sink space for me when I use my Instant Pot!
