I have serious skepticism on that figure from AN. Ram manages to sell the EcoDiesel at a relatively reasonable price given the segment, I bet Ford will have a similar price. It is highly unlikely Ford would put all this energy into a light duty F-150 if they didn’t think they could price it competitively.
Too bad the last Fox Capri was an 86 model. When I think of notable cars in 87, the 5.0 Mustang is at the top of my list. Best bang for the buck. I paid $10k for my 87 5.0 LX brand new. The GN is great too. I looked at buying one, but they were $15k, and the GNX was double that. Way out of reach for many folks, but…
Um... what? I’ll be 100% honest; I haven’t the slightest idea what you’re referring to by “cluttered mess.” A Mustang with basically that exact interior (slightly different finish on the aluminum dash panel) is my daily driver. It’s an extremely straightforward, clean setup. It has aluminum switches for climate…
This confirms Jalopnik staff can always find something to whine about.
I have followed the site for many years, but might have to visit less seeing so much of personal politics injected.
I’ve been around for quite some time, and can remember when the vitriol was contained to sister sites. I remember when Jalopnik was politics free.
The extreme political editorializing on this site is getting old quickly. This may be news to you, but 47% of the country sees things differently than you. Marginalizing half your readerbase is not a good business model.
Your attitude is a big reason why Trump got elected, you know.
is this how it’s gonna be for the next 4 years? boo-hoo round-the-clock? sour grapes 24/7?
You’re the puppet.
I’d add that anytime they were spoke to, they were called racist, sexist, xenophbic, uneducated bigots. Apparently you shouldn’t alienate one of the biggest voting blocks in the country.
Off the showroom floor stock right? Yeah, right.
“Marginally” faster? The RS does 0-60 about a second faster than the GTI.
I’ll still take the mustang with it’s 8k redline
I think a lot of people buy based off of looks too. I’ve been in both cars and while the Camaro is much improved I still think the interior of the Mustang is better. Biggest thing for me is the Camaro seems cramped insaide due to the small windows, Mustang feels more airy. Granted it’s all opinion based. I just…
Really? I don’t remember there being a skidpad or a Christmas tree to run the quarter mile on my 20 mile commute to work this morning, so I really can’t bring myself to care that the 2016 Camaro SS runs 0-60 2 or 3 tenths of a second faster than a 2016 Mustang GT.
I’m 28 and would only buy a Focus over a Mustang if I needed a cheap economy car and couldn’t afford a Mustang with a proper v8.
BUT, what you’re saying isn’t that they’d rather have the Focus, just that they couldn’t afford the Mustang. That’s why the sales are falling, it isn’t “bah, baby boomer car grumble grumble” it’s just the price of them.
The new camaros are great cars. But as a 16' Mustang GT PP owner, I can say when I went to buy a Pony Car this year the new camaro was a dimly lit flame in a wind storm and the mustang was the wind storm. It might be on the same level of performance but looks, wow factor, and pricing blow camaros out of the water.…
