Any US citizen may request tickets, but you do need a letter of recommendation from a 'professional' (eg a lawyer, doctor, banker, psychologist, civil servant, etc...) who has been established in London for a long time.

From the dress code email: "Hats should be worn; a headpiece which has a base of 4 inches (10cm) or more in diameter is acceptable as an alternative to a hat."
I'm going this Saturday! I and some friends managed to finagle some tickets to the Royal Enclosure through the US Embassy, and after "slumming it" in the Silver Enclosure last year, I'm really excited.
I'm so with you, and also imagined him as Finnick as I was reading it!
Not that it even matters, because the men and women are being kept separately. SO many logic fails I can't even...
Well to be fair he did say 'elementary' a couple of times, he just never said, "It's elementary, my dear Watson," or anything like that. But I totally agree with you that it's a dreadful name for a show! Except if it were a snarky teachers' show. THAT I could really get on board with.
I agree. I think Lucy Liu could've pulled off the all the various facets of the Holmes persona brilliantly. As for JLM, there's something about his performance in Eli Stone that makes me think he could've made a great Watson, too. Alas indeed.
Amen, APieceofMaria...
I just wish they had cast Lucy Lui as the Holmes character and JLM as the Watson character. In canon, and in most derivatives, the whole dynamic between H&W is that Watson is in awe of and sort of enamored with Holmes. I'm not saying it necessarily will be, but it has the *potential* to be problematic when we have not…
YAY congratulations! Which country are you moving to? I moved to England for my degrees and it's been an amazing adventure!
Thanks for not biting my head off :)
Well, I was being tongue-in-cheek; I don't put any effort into hating LA. I wouldn't want to live there, but that's different than actively hating a place. I don't know anyone who thinks that way, either. If anything, people are just really dismissive of it (though I recognize that that can be snotty as well).
Completely agree with what Fassbender said about London, especially in its contrast with Los Angeles. But then again I'm from San Francisco and therefore practically contractually obligated to hate on LA ;)
I'm particularly disgusted by the two little girls in the background who have had bumper stickers of those bigoted words stuck into them (what a perverse contrast - innocent and hate). It's heartbreaking to see children in such a environment, knowing how they'll be molded by such ignorance.
Suit yourself, but I'm not alone in this. [uk.eonline.com]
Me too, Tundra_Foot. I totally missed this controversy, and I'm a huge fan as well! That's just ridiculous.
When I was reading the book I totally imagined Finnick as Armie Hammer, and he's still my first choice I think, but I definitely can get on board with this Jesse Williams guy as well!
I LOVE the name Holly!
As a Chloe, I have to say I've never wished for another name (the closest I came was a couple of times as a kid, wne I was bummed they didn't make those mini state license plates with it)! It's sort of crazy how popular it's become now, since when I was growing up it was incredibly rare (I'm in my later 20s). I only…
Haha love it!
