My biggest problem with a lot of boomers (not all mind you) is the greed. They worked themselves up to the top, but they refuse to step aside for the next generation.
@Stormhawk: he was floating a few episodes ago
@chairmankaga: I had the real voltron. the one with the lead in it that was recalled in the mid 80's. we never sent it back. it was pretty damned awesome except the heads (hands) broke off the red and green things which formed the arms.
@buffcoat and beaver: exactly what i was going to post. Although ANY american zeta sedan would be welcome
@brodiemac: my previous employer used to be a lot more against me working from home until i was able to finish projects weeks away from completion by taking days from home, and getting the equivalent of a week or more of in-office hours done each day. After a while, they practically begged me to work at home, or…
Personally, flexibility is pretty low down the priority list to me.
@$kaycog: i see life-size dummies driving police cars sometimes ;)
to me this just looks half done. the scratches in it could be eliminated by going to finer and finer grits of sandpaper in stages. if you want a pattern in it, i'd rather use a sanding disk on a dremel or something to get a uniform circular pattern. this just looks like something someone sanded, it doesn't look…
it's probably just as cheap as putting any other stand on the bottom, especially if they have ps2's laying around
REALLY bad idea. First off, as is stated, the OP just simulated a fireplace. If you want to do that, or put it in a fireplace that's permanently sealed or out of service, that's fine. Mounting a tv in an actual fireplace though? horrible idea.
@Riff-Raff: I went through that while renting an apartment years ago. The people next to us were a bunch of early 20-somethings who had no concept of consideration. They would have loud parties late into the middle of the night, sometimes during week days. More often than not, their stereo was blasting which…
@tonyola: good point, you're right. they recycled the H-platform name around 2000. there isn't a tie to the earlier lesabre and olds 88.
it's the white version of mine
wouldn't they just sink to the rims in sand or even gravel? that could be interesting to get out of. and odd considering they specifically mention the red sands of mars
@Slagathorian: Save the trees and kill the children.: have they fixed the lighting problems yet?
@CaptainJack: a 30 year old tv still working today is an extreme case, and I think the same will be true of today's tv's 30 years from now. A primary tv lasting? most likely not. but a secondary tv that gets little use? absolutely could happen.
@d0minick: 6-8 years ago, plasma tv's had a pretty short shelf life. Some models you could in theory use up in a year or two. but today they last so long, it's not a concern.
