Right there with you on the pragmatic progressive-ism. I voted for Bernie in the primary, Hillary in the general, and would be forever grateful if we could stop rehashing last year’s fucking primary while America burns.

It’s much easier to just listen to the talking heads and make a No TPP sign than READ.
What’s challenging about finding a label is that there is very little distinction in policy advocacy between that wing the pragmatic progressives. That’s why I push back whenever I see someone claiming the mantle of the left or progressive for it. I’m for socialized health care subsidized college tuition, policies…
This is very true. And when we try to be positive about things we’re accused of getting complacent when no, we’re just trying to maybe celebrate something small that went right and trying to build momentum from it.
I don’t think that “people who like Bernie Sanders” are bernie bros. I like Bernie Sanders! My mom and husband and best friend (the three most important people in my life, whose political opinion I deeply respect) all voted for Bernie. (I ultimately voted for HRC, but it wasn’t an easy decision and I would have…
I was being flip and so wasn’t very clear. It’s specifically purity politics that make me nervous. The far right has perfected this and as a result ground congress to a halt. I really don’t want liberals to pick up that same flawed logic, where we turn on potential allies because they aren’t pure enough in their…
Oooh, pragmatic progressive. I like this phrase. Count me in. (Also, I agree with your assessment entirely.)
Let’s be friends and organize together.
(Except that I don’t like your labels because I’ve been a progressive for decades, and I am darned if I’m letting Bernie supporters redefine progressive to equal support for Bernie. Although I may borrow your concept of “pragmatic progressive” because yes, that is EXACTLY it)
I’m in the same boat but haven’t caught hell yet. I just feel like yelling please everyone be reasonable and listen and drop any talking points or lies from the primary right damn now and get to work.
Well there has been (Perez and Ellison both have prushed for it and hard) but a lot of people are still angry and won’t get over themselves. Biggest issues I’ve seen:
Well, he’s obviously going to get the vast majority of Democratic and (probably) Independent votes in the election. The question is whether that will be enough to get a simple majority. It’s not enough for the Democrats to win a majority. He has to. What percentage of the total vote do you think can he afford to lose…
My concern is tha Americans, with the attention span of a toddler, will become numb to what is going on or moved on to other things. My fear is that by the time the voting commences, they will have forgotten.
The only way Ossoff wins is without a runoff, and while it’s very evident that he’s the only candidate with any money/organization, I’m still skeptical that he’ll pull a majority in the sixth with 16 other candidates. My guess is that he’ll get about 46 percent and that Handel will end up with 25-30 percent and that…
Yeah I wonder if this is the info they originally tried to leak through Nunes (he said he saw something related to FISA). Also FISA information is extremely secretive, whoever did leak this is in serious trouble if caught. Nunes is under investigation just for announcing FISA was somehow involved in the info he saw.
One thing to keep in mind is that whatever the idiots in the administration think they are doing with leaks, there’s still an ongoing investigation. The news will chomp at whatever chum happens to be in the water that day, but there are people whose sole job is to work every angle and build a case and they don’t spout…
What you’re missing is that we’re in the worst timeline and none of that matters. :(
Honey, these are the people still clinging to the Clinton Body Count List.
My boyfriend recorded his uber ride Friday night. It was 25 minutes of the guy repeating everything he’d heard on the Christian Broadcast Network. He’s still waiting on his anointing oils.
moral of all stories: stay in your home.
You know... I’ve never had that problem with a traditional cab.
