Ryan’s an ideological true believer. He honestly thinks all regulation or gov’t assistance is bad. That’s why he pushes for it. He also knows it’s an incredibly unpopular idea in practice, so that’s why they run on “no regulations” and “Other people’s entitlements are hurting you” and not “no assistance for YOU”

I know this is a silly hair to split, but the polling before the election was actually pretty accurate. they just focused on the wrong question (popular vote nation wide vs. state by state/electoral college).
