This looks absolutely horrendous, and only an idiot who likes simplistic bullshit plots that are over the top would pay money to watch this heaping ball of garbage.

It’s more complex, but I really liked the modern take on Ithorians with the Mayor. He looks like a weird alien, sure, but it felt like he was an alien person and not a guy in a suit.
It’s probably the Twins being the equivalent of Made Men in our world, right? If you’re in the “Mafia”, you can’t just kill other members wantonly, you need a damn good reason.
I mean, is anyone surprised? The film literally comes out and says “Warner Brothers is going to do a fourth Matrix whether or not we want to get involved”. It’s not even subtext, it’s literal text in the film, that didn’t come from nowhere...
While a slow, moody, piano cover of Yakety Sax plays in the background
Riddler’s parents died by slipping on pearls is my guess.
Definitely one of the best ship to ships...especially given the class difference between the Roci and the Pella. And especially getting to see Marcos’ look of inferiority at the end of it.
I have been saying ,here in the greys ,I liked the whole mid credit scene ,it made me smile .
I mean, Yelana is not a stupid person. No way she didn’t figure that sacrifice out in the first place. And no way Yelana couldn’t kill Clint if she wanted to—a sniper rifle at 1000 yards is pretty quick and avoids all the hand to hand messiness.
No, whether she said it out loud or not, she wanted a reason not to take…
Well, some of the older ones maybe. A lot of the assholes my age spouting this crap just never signed up. I remember dying laughing at the story of one of these assclowns who, when COVID and the Floyd protests happened, went into his bunker with his wife with all the canned rations and not only didn’t have a can…
The Yelena/Kate frenemies fight was just THE BEST. I really adored Yelena’s whole energy of, “You are out of your league, Kate Bishop, but I want to be supportive of your efforts here, even though they will not stop me.”
“you better believe it’s gonna”
Dear god I love Aghdashloo’s voice. It does sound a bit like she eats cigarettes for breakfast, lunch and dinner but that huskiness is its own appeal. It’s also instantly recognisable (such as when she pops up in Arcane)
I think her dying because he helped a stranger is the point. She saw that it worked out horribly, and she STILL told him it was the right call, and that she was proud of him, and that he should continue operating that way. It was an inversion of that plot point, and in the end, it worked.
Exactly - Aunt May was a character rather than a plot point. Sure, it’s sad for Peter when Uncle Ben dies, but typically we only get enough interaction with Uncle Ben to understand why Peter is sad, rather than actually feeling sad ourselves like with Aunt May. Also, anyone who knows anything about Spider-Man knew…
I guess the embargo lifted 10 minutes ago, and in those ten minutes I’ve seen 6 reviews. Three of those reviews say it’s pretty great, and the other three say it’s hot garbage. So I guess it’s another Matrix sequel.
Here’s a little tip to help actors who just took a damn job and don’t know how to handle Star Wars nerds asking questions about deep lore: If someone asks if your character is related to some other character vaguely like them, the answer is yes. Always yes. Everyone in Star Wars is always related.
Drone Report : Sea Rough, Winds Strong, Everywhere Water. Drone Cold.
So as a kid I watched a lot of very similar movies set in WWII with a similar lack of character depth/development. Basically, the grim version of Ocean’s 11 in the sense there is a team of people with easily identifiable distinctions and then all the main drama is external. There are maybe some unexpected heroes and…
I absolutely agree, especially about the Death Star. Seeing it slowly rising over the horizon of Scarif as its crew coldly decide to sacrifice their own people give it such a weight of dread.
